It is that time of year once more. As the weather grows cooler, the days grow shorter. Soon, autumn will become winter. While some of you have been here for a while, I have not, and I am unsure of just how cold this city might become

It was very cold here recently. Something to do with the volcano that erupted miles away before I arrived here.

I'm certain we'll be working together in preparation for the freezing months.

That was also before I arrived, but I have heard that some might still have supplies from then.

It would be preferable if we could at least get most of Discedo to consider preparing. Have you done so before?

It was rather sudden. It doesn't normally snow like that in August in most places, so it caught us off guard.

In my own world, I have helped people prepare for winter. I think my abilities could be of some use to the people here.

Abilities are useful, but so are adequate supplies.

Gyatso? You know Aang, is that right? And just Hohenheim is fine.

Yes. Aang is my student, and I am his guardian. Hohenheim it will be, then.

Oh! I'm sure you're very proud of him. He has a strength and wisdom I wish I had at that age.

Likewise! But yes, I am very proud of him and very lucky to have had a chance to know him so well.

[He pauses. He's been told a little bit about the war collectively from Zuko, Aang and Toph. He's not entirely sure of what to say, though.]

... Discedo may be a bleak place, but it sometimes gives people a chance to reconcile with those they've been separated from. My wife was here for a time, but in my world, she had been passed for years.

[Gyatso's voice does sadden, but there is still a lightness to it.]

I am just grateful for this second chance to be with him, even if it is in such a place as this. And it lets me see just how much he's grown during his journeys! Although he is still very much a boy as well.

I share the same feeling with my sons, Edward and Alphonse.

The bending from your world fascinates me. It's not unlike my world's alchemy, in some ways.

Perhaps when I get my chip out, I could give you a demonstration? I would like to know a bit more about alchemy myself! The best way to stay young is to stay curious, after all.

That would be most wonderful! Discedo has given us the unique chance to see just how different or similar other worlds are to our own. It would be a shame if it were wasted!
