Our world is in peril...
Last night I was looking around on youtube, and I found that there were full Captain Planet episodes up. I watched the pilot episode, which I haven't seen in many years, and I laughed pretty hard. Not that I disagree with the messages of the show, but they're so far from subliminal that this almost seems like a satirical right-wing comedy poking fun at liberals. I'm making it mandatory that you watch this, and then come up with a Captain Planet drinking game.
There was also an episode about some kid that got AIDS, and they were saying all the ways you could get it, including "unprotected sex". I remember they also showed people bleeding and getting killed on the show. Back in hindsight, I think it's pretty hilarious that my mom would let me watch this, but that X-Men was too violent.
Also, random trivia. The voice cast for the show included Whoopi Goldberg, Levar Burton, Meg Ryan, Sting, and Kath Soicie (Phil and Lil from "Rugrats").
