I've noticed that
H&R Block has been mailing out informational CDs for their tax software (formerly known as TaxCut). These CDs don't even contain the actual software, just information about the software with a link to buy it. I've already received my 2nd one in the mail this month. This reminds me of AOL's direct-mail strategy where they used to mail out AOL CDs to people all the time. I have to wonder how much money is wasted on all these CDs and their packaging and the cost of mailing out so many of them.
