(no subject)
mmm, dark chocolate M&Ms, Heroes, and my dino extinction lab... a good monday evening. except wait, i don't want to write a lab report on why the dinos went extinct. i have much better things to do with my time. like watch Heroes and take a nap.
lowdown for second semester:
1. i am slightly ecstatic about my history class. i walked into lecture the other day and bobby (kennedy)'s voice was floating out of the speakers in the front of the auditorium and it was GLORIOUS.
unless you're an american history freak like me, i don't think you can quite appreciate how much i am going to enjoy this class, esp because it is my only class on tuesday and thursday, and it starts at 12:30.
how silly i was to think that i wanted to switch my major to earth science. HAH. silly me, i like lyndon johnson a HELL OF A LOT BETTER than i like metamorphic rocks. even if metamorphic rocks aren't ever going to get us into a mess like Vietnam.
all right, i won't get started on that.
2. apparently i was supposed to start my writing seminar research paper last semester. at least, that's the impression i got from my teacher, who talked for a straight HOUR today about how we should have already started researching and should practically have a Nobel Prize-winning paper by the end of the week.
this is the only part of being a history major that i won't like: writing enormous papers every month.
3. it finally started snowing today. about effing time. i went running last night along the river and almost DIED from the windchill, and i would very much appreciate it if we could get some SNOW along with these sub-zero temperatures. thanks. it's only the middle of january, for god's sake.
4. both seniors on the women's sabre squad left for the semester, so that leaves me in the (slightly undesirable) position of being the A-fencer. slightly undesirable because, while this means i have a straight shot of being sabre captain next year, i also have to fence people like Randy Alevi from Brown at each of the meets. ughhhh. and i have a huge bruise all along the inside of my leg from practice on thursday because i'm only fencing the guys at practice now, and they fight dirty. :p
i love fencing. dear god, if i get captain next year i'm whipping some discipline into the team and MAKING us better than fucking BC and fucking MIT. we can beat them. i'm just bitter because BU is such a change from the CC team, which is known state-wide for being the best fencing team in massachusetts. yeah, yeah, i brag. but it's true. you get RESPECT when you say you fenced for CC.
all right, i've procrastinated long enough on this dinosaur lab.
good thing i have an ENTIRE BAG OF DARK CHOCOLATE M&Ms to keep me focused. ha.
