life as (oberlin) usual

School is okay. School is even good sometimes, when I let go of the fact that I'm frustrated by classroom learning and this ridiculous unproductive encouragement Oberlin seems dole out have for taking more classes/credits than you can really handle. I've gone back and forth a lot over whether taking algorithms is really worth it, since it takes so much time and energy and I usually don't find the right answer, but in the end I think it's good.

I drove all the way to Saratoga Springs, NY last weekend for the Dance Flurry, which was wonderful. I think my favorite part was a tie between skipping a lot of dancing on Friday night to have an hour-long conversation about gender with Scott, and polka-ing to an accordianized version of "Under The Sea" at 1AM in the "Polka Magic" room.

Fairkid is awesome, too. Hot Pocket special meal tonight! for anyone who's around. It'll be delicious, if Rocky and I can pull it off by ourselves.

There are lots of really good people here who make me really happy, but unlike last year I don't feel like they're saving my life - I can do that on my own. This is good.
