It's been over year since my last post! Maybe that's long enough. I'll try to start posting at least semi-regularly from now on. (I wonder how long that resolution will last?)
I finally watched The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus the other day, after putting it off for more than a month. I liked it: it wasn't brilliant but it was certainly better than the reviews I'd read had made it sound. The acting was all very good, and the visuals were fantastic. It's definitely worth seeing.
It left me in more of an emotional mess than I had expected, though. I was a hugh Heath Ledger fan--I thought he was amazingly talented, couldn't wait to see what he'd get up to for the rest of his career, and was in pieces when he died--but I still wasn't expecting the movie to shake me up to the extent that it did. Back in 2008 I thought seeing The Dark Knight would mess me up, but it didn't... I guess because I knew the Imaginarium was still to come. But this is officially his Last Movie. I haven't even watched all of the rest of his movies yet and I still got choked up during the closing credits of this one.
