"PAPA!"

The door suddenly swung open, and before any of the Hey! Say! JUMP members could register whose voice it was, a gush of wind swept through the dressing room as a tiny ball of energy breezed into the room and bounced onto the couch, where Ryosuke was taking a nap. Awoken by the sudden movement, he sat up and looked to see who it was, laughing as he realized it was his five-year-old daughter. The rest of JUMP finally realized who it was, and joined in Ryosuke's laughter. The little girl grinned widely at her father, her eyes sparkling in delight.

"Papa was great!" Miharu squealed as she eagerly jumped into her father's open arms. Ryosuke laughed and nodded as he moved his hands to fix her lopsided pigtails. "You watched us, princess?"

"Un! Everyone was great too, but Papa was the best!"

Everyone roared in laughter again as Chinen whined in protest, "Haru-chan, you're just saying that because he's your Papa, aren't you?"

"No, Chinen," Yamada shook his head as he got off the couch and looked around for his wallet. "When she's complimenting me after a concert, it usually means she wants ice cream and cake."

Hikaru moved towards the father and daughter pair, chuckling as he knelt down to make eye contact with the child. "You sure do know how to bribe your dad, don't you?" He ruffled her hair playfully, which earned him a glare from Ryosuke.

"HIKARU! I just fixed her hair!" Ryosuke complained as he moved closer to fix Miharu's pigtails again. Hikaru raised his hands up in front in defense. "Sorry! I forgot you did!" Ryosuke scoffed in reply as he reached for his daughter's hand, enveloping them in his larger ones.

"So, Miharu, shall we go for ice cream?" he asked. Miharu nodded enthusiastically, the ever permanent grin widening in response. "See guys? Her compliments mean she wants sweets in return."

Yabu waved them out of the room. "Go have some ice cream then, but make sure to bring back some for us!" The rest JUMP furiously nodded in agreement. Ryosuke sighed resignedly and nodded. "Fine, I'll get a big tub for you guys. But someone else better buy one next time! Decide who gets to buy it over janken!"

And with that, father and daughter left the members to a heated game of janken that decided the fate of whoever the poor guy is decided on to get ice cream the next day.

Daiki lost.

Miharu clapped her hands in delight as Ryosuke set down a tray filled with a small tub of vanilla ice cream and two plates of strawberry shortcakes and sat down next to her on the bench. "Yay, strawberry cake!"

Ryosuke smiled and handed the child a dessert spoon, which she accepted with a grin. "It's funny how you look like your mother but you have my eyes and like the same things I do..." he mumbled thoughtfully as he took a bite of the cake.

It's been nearly six years since, but he always believed she never truly left. He missed her more and more every day, but Miharu's presence made it easier for him to accept things and move on. Miharu made him feel alive, and gave him reason to live through each and every day -- it was as if Miharu was the angel that his wife sent to watch over him and to love and care for him in her place.

"Papa?"

Miharu's high-pitched voice cut into his reverie, and he realized she was trying to open the ice cream tub. He smiled again as he reached for the tub and opened it for her.

"Thank you, Papa! Are you thinking about something?" she asked her father as she took a few scoops of ice cream from the tub.

"Hm? Oh, yeah, sort of..." Ryosuke trailed off, slowly beginning to lose himself in his train of thought again.

"Are you thinking about Mama?"

Ryosuke was caught off-guard. "E-Eh? How do you know?"

Miharu smiled brightly as she concentrated on finishing her cake. "Yuto-jii told me you and Mama met here before I was born!"

Ryosuke muttered a low "I'll kill you later, Yuto," before responding to Miharu's words. "Well, yeah, that was nearly eight years before you were born. Now that I think about it, most of our dates were really just eating ice cream and cake here..."

Miharu gave her father a questioning look. He noticed this and chuckled, shaking his head. "Never mind, princess. This place reminds me of your mother though."

"So let's eat ice cream and cake here a lot then, Papa! So that we'll always remember Mama and never forget her!"

Ryosuke laughed and nodded, pulling his daughter into a hug. "Yes, let's, princess. It's a good idea."

Sometimes the best moments in his life were just those little moments that his daughter remembered her mother -- the mother that she never got to meet. It gave him a sense of happiness to know that Miharu loved her mother just as much as she adored him.

'That way,' he believed, 'She would stay in our memories and our hearts forever.'
