Flying Blind Summary August 2006
Adam continued to work extra hours and shifts because of the increase in patients due to the heat wave. Megabyte was worried that Adam was healing and not taking care of himself.
Harry heard that the school Sarah Jane Smith was working at had exploded, and ran into Quatre on his way there. Quatre offered to teleport them and Harry agreed. After being questioned by a John Smith of Torchwood, they found Sarah Jane unharmed. Quatre was introduced to K-9 when he was mistaken for a threat. Quatre questioned both Harry and Sarah Jane about the technology used to create K-9 and how Sarah Jane had come to own him. Sarah Jane went home and Harry and Quatre ended up at a coffee shop. They discussed K-9, time travel, Harry's feelings for Sarah Jane and subjects that are likely to trigger a reaction in Kev. Both felt more comfortable with the other afterwards.
Kev and Quatre discussed acting out some fantasies.
Relena and Heero discussed plans for a vacation and considered several cool spots including Iceland.
Adam passed out from exhaustion after healing a sick girl who reminded him of Jade, in Casuality. Harry contacted Megabyte who teleported in, extremely upset. Adam regained consciousness, but was argumentative. Harry sedated him and ordered forty eight hours bed rest and a week off.
Megabyte cancelled lunch with Quatre and Quatre ended up porting over to him because he could feel Megabyte's anger. Megabyte pushed Quatre and Quatre had to restrain and then port them to the ship because Megabyte lost control of his edge power. Kev left work early so he could be with Adam.
Duo was feeling bored because all he was doing was working. He invited Wufei to go to Mexico so they could spend some time together.
Megabyte posted to say Adam was feeling better and to apologize to Quatre and Kev.
Harry and Megabyte had a talk about Adam's history of overworking himself and Harry eased Megabyte's mind about some misinformation Megabyte had been given the last time Adam was hospitalized. They discussed the bond and the medical implications.
Adam had a mentor meeting with Harry and discussed his collapse. Harry reminded Adam that he would need to take care of himself first. They discussed Hunters and what happens if one of the TP is captured.
Quatre's problems with his empathic shielding continued to increase to the point where he was not able to deal with being around people. He resigned his job his job at the bookstore. He and Kev had lunch with Adam to determine if Kev could shield for both of them, and determined Kev could not shield out non TPs.
Megabyte cut his work week down to two and a half days and began looking for side jobs to supplement his income. He talked to General Damon about consulting and the general started work on getting Megabyte clearance so he can do security work for the government.
Harry had dinner with Megabyte and Adam. Megabyte introduced Harry to video games and discovered that Harry knew his uncle.
Zechs was released from the hospital and settled in the apartment above Heero and Relena. Leo came home to live with him after being with Duo and Wufei.
Quatre's problems with his empathic shielding continued to escalate and after being talked into it by Trowa, Kev and Megabyte, he accepted Adam's offer to try to heal him.
Adam attempted to heal Quatre and instead of draining himself got very energetic. Trowa passed out and was taken home by Quatre and Kev. It was later discovered that Adam healed Quatre's scars. After some experimentation they determine that Trowa's edge power is the ability to increase another TP's edge power and instead of being focused on Quatre, as he was before, he was now focused on Adam. Quatre was no longer having any difficulty with his shields or controling his empathy.
The morning after Quatre was healed he found a note from Trowa saying that Trowa needed some time alone to figure out how to control his edge power and if they came looking for him he would disappear.
After several days, Quatre tried to path Trowa, but when he got no response went looking for Trowa. They had an argument which cumulated in Quatre slugging him and Trowa breaking down. Trowa then returned home. Quatre and Kev were able to help Trowa learn how to shield his edge power and Adam collapsed when he was no longer drawing energy from Trowa.
Megabyte informed Harry of Adam's collapse and Harry arranged a house call to check on Adam.
Wufei posted an angry post wanting to know what the hell was going on as he and Duo were unaware of anything besides Quatre having shielding issues. Megabyte explained what had happened and Wufei went to spend some time in China to cool off of and think.
Harry checked on Adam and found him medically sound. After sleeping twenty four hours Adam recovered from the energy drain.
Quatre talked to Relena about what had happened with Trowa and discussed his worry that he will wake up and Trowa will be gone.
Kev and Harry went shopping for running shoes.
Quatre and Kev talked about trust and how it had been damaged by recent events. Quatre told Kev that he had spoken to Aunt Ruth and it had helped. They promised each other to support and help each other keep faith.
Adam started working night shift. He and Megabyte struggled with only seeing each other in passing. Neither is sleeping well and both are lonely.
