If there is anything that I've learned in the last eight months that I've been at U of M, it's that you should not set any expectations. That way, you will be satisfied with whatever may come your way.
Okay, I'm going to retract that statement eventually.
I suppose the former comes into play on a more personal level rather than on an academic level. I've come to realize who my true friends are.. for the first time I truly recognize and appreciate the fact that quality surpasses quanitity.
Regarding my lab, I've never felt more at home. It's incredible how people I've known for less than two weeks can make me feel more welcome and appreciated than people I've known for years. It's incredible how people I've known for less than two weeks plan on taking me out for my birthday while people I've known for years fail to recognize it. Don't get me wrong, I never fuss about my birthday.... it's never been a huge deal to me. It's just nice when people want to spend it with you.
In other news Jeffrey Simon is the love of my life.
And Bex is the best roomie ever.
Hope everything is okay with all of you guys.
