My weekend in Peterborough was...fun. It was a lot of fun actually, but there's a weird after-note lingering in my head.
My two experimental films were supposed to be showcased in a gallery in Kingston, but (BUT!!!!) I totally spaced and ended up leaving for Peterborough a day early, causing me to miss a meeting with someone to transfer my work to DVD. In my defense I was still recovering from a brutal all-nighter which bled well into the afternoon. This heavily impaired my judgment when I got talked into going up a day early. I ended up calling in favours to get my work to a friend who would transfer them for me, but he ran into a ton of technical difficulties, and, long story short, my work will no longer make their debut in a gallery setting. C'est la vie, I guess. But, fuck! I could have been in a gallery! What a neat thing to put on your resume.
In better news, I just got an e-mail from one of my favourite professors. "I want to submit your first video to the TIFF student showcase." Not I want you to, but I want to. Holy shit. That just made my day.
Now I'm waiting for a phone interview from Korea. The job is exactly what I want, and it doesn't start until mid-June, so I'll have loads of time to gallivant in the city I've come to know and love with the people I know and love.
