Fall 2007 TV So Far - Mostly Heroes

Sep 27, 2007 12:40

I've watched three premiers so far this TV season, and have enjoyed all of them. First, there's the premier of season two of "Heroes", which I'll write more about in a minute. Then we stayed tune for "Journeyman" which seemed interesting from the previews, and turned out to be just as interesting as it promised. I like the premise of that series, and the acting is good. Then there's "Reaper" which sounded oddly amusing, seeing as it is about a guy who finds out his parents sold his soul to the Devil, and it was oddly amusing - funny and entertaining. Kevin Smith directed it as well, which is cool. I wonder if that was a one time only thing, or if he directs the whole series?

I know there are several "Heroes" fans on my friends list, but is anyone else watching "Journeyman" or "Reaper"?

I was so thrilled for this premier! And I was glad that it opened up with Mohinder's narration. The guy from The Company who found him was certainly creepy, and it's a bit odd that he's stolen Sylar's background music. For a while, I wondered if maybe he was Sylar, using Candice's powers, but now that doesn't seem so likely.

I love that Molly's living with and being taken care of by Matt and Mohinder. I do wonder what happened with Matt's wife though. Did she have their baby? Probably not yet as she'd only be what, 5 or so months pregnant? I didn't really like her, but it seems cruel that she would have left Matt presumably when he was recovering from being shot four times in the chest... Anyway though, yay for Matt becoming a detective! Also, poor Molly, those dreams seem horrible! She's been through so much crap D:

Somehow, it doesn't seem right that with all the changing identity precautions Mr. Bennet put in place he wouldn't have changed Claire's name, or dyed her hair, or something more than relocated and changed the family name to Butler, you know? I loved the scene with Mr. Bennet and Claire going to school, and he was awesome at work lol, I don't think that young and annoying boss of his is going to bother him anymore XD Mr. Bennet's so cool. I also liked the awkward "nothing interesting happened today" discussion at the Bennet family dinner. And Mohinder the spy should be interesting. I like that he's working with Mr. Bennet to bring down The Company.

I don't like that West kid. I don't like that it he and Claire are going to be a couple (as say the interviews/articles about this season, and the kiss in the preview). There's just something that bothers me about him and Clarie disserves better. It's also strange how he seems to know that Claire has powers. Wasn't it creepy that he was watching her from outside her bedroom winder? wtf's up with that? And he can fly?? Makes me wonder if he's another illegitamate son of Nathan. If that turns out to be the case and they still let them be a couple, than I'm going to be really ticked off as I ship Claire with Peter (despite his being her uncle) and I know that won't ever work out (why did he have to turn out to be her uncle?!?), and I feel like it would be less wrong for her to be involved with him than her half brother >.< lol I can't believe I just wrote that xD

Okay, moving on, I loved how Nathan realized Mama Petrelli is evil - and that he told her so! XD that was great! Even if he was drunk at the time...

Poor Hiro's dad though, and Ando-kun... I hope Ando-kun doesn't get killed seeing as he was a witness to Hiro's dad's murder. I'm worried for him. Poor Hiro though too. It must be completely crappy for him to find out that his lifelong hero, Kensei, is actually an ass. I mean I know that he's going to have to shape him up so that history goes the way it should, but man, what a disappointment. The sword smith’s daughter seems cool though.

Any guesses as to who the other members of the company are? From the discussion between Mama Petrelli and Hiro's dad, it seems there were 12 of them all together. But we only know 6 of them, right? Mama Petrelli, her husband, Hiro's dad, Linderman, Charles Deveaux, and the guy who was following around Mohinder. I don't think that any of them killed Hiro's dad... I figure that must have been someone else, but who? Am I forgetting any other known members of The Company - I mean, obviously besides Mohinder now, but I doubt the was among the number that Hiro's dad named since he wouldn't have known Mohinder joined.

The new brother and sister seem interesting. I wonder what the sister's power is?

It was good to see Peter at the end of the episode. I wonder if he has any of his memories? Also, who chained him up there? I know that during the summer break Milo Ventimiglia cut his hair, but isn't it a little odd to have Peter having been chained up for who knows how long and randomly his hair is real short? Did whoever put him there feel the need to cut his hair? Or maybe his hair fell out as part of the explosion at the end of the first season and it's only grown back that much? Why the length of Peter's hair leads me to so many questions, I don't know, but it just bothered me.

Finally, it may be somewhat random, but I'm slightly suspicious of the new guy we've met from The Company as being he new bad guy that haunts Molly's dreams. But he might be too obvious, and so I also wonder about West. That could be an interesting twist, have the new bad guy be a teenager and love interest of Claire... or maybe we haven't met the new bad guy yet? Guess we'll just have to watch and see.
