FMA Chapter #71
I read FMA manga chapter #71 last weekend, but just now decided to read it again and post some thoughts on it., some of which tie back into chapter #70. So obviously, spoilers are beneath the following cut. Don't look if you haven't read these chapters!
First of all, I totally did not expect Pride to be Selim, and I'm still wondering if the Furher knows that Selim is Pride, or if this is something that will be used against the Fuhrer for some reason. I wonder when the other characters (other than Riza and Father, and possibly the Fuhrer, and maybe some of the other sins) will discover Pride's true identity? It's really creepy how he seems to be able to travel through the shadows >.< This is going to be very interesting (not like it wasn't already interesting...but this new twist is like o.O;).
Kimblee is such a fascinating character. It's a shame that he didn't get that developed in the anime. Also, where are the Kimblee cosplayers? I'd really have thought that there would be more of them. especially with that stylish suit and hat he's got going on in the manga. Anyway, I love how he isn't particularly taking a side in all of this and how he admires anyone with a strong resolve. I'm looking forward to seeing what other developments happen with him in upcoming chapters.
The little bit where Mei Chan is so flattered and excited by Alphonse saying that he's been searching for her is so adorable! The first time I read through chapter #71 I started cracking up at the cuteness - and at the part where she's getting jealous of Winry too. I'm a Mei x Alphonse shipper now <3 (for the record, other FMA ships = Ed x Winry, Roy x Riza, Gracia x Maes, Izumi x Sig, Greed x Marta, Denny x Maria, Ling x Ran Fan,...and Fletcher x Marion from Kaleido Star).
Is it just me, or is Ed starting to look older? I mean I know he's getting older as the series goes on, but for some reason he looked particularly more, grown up(?), when he was telling Kimblee the "reason" why he and Alphonse needed to go search for Scar before they could comply with the orders from the Furher.
Also, I just had to mention my love for the panel from chapter #70 with Ed's memory version of his discussion with Riza, in which his memory has Riza and Black Hayate taunting Ed about how he love Winry XD that's so amusing.
I want the next chapter now!
Additionally, I've got an FMA FST in progress, would you guys be interested in my posting the track listing and lyrics once I've got it more ready?
