I'm sure you all know about the recent attack. Godric came up with the rather clever idea of having a sort of young auror's society to start defending ourselves. The adults are not taking this seriously. We need to sit down and figure out how to make this a reality. I, for one, am not prepared to be caught helpless again ( Read more... )

NO WAY.

Young aurors? Honestly!
You're just asking for trouble!

I knew you would be, Wormtail. Percy's in, too, I think. I spoke to him personally.

Percy? The Weasley with the wand up his arse?

All right, then.

So improving our defense abilities is a bad thing?

That's what Defense against the Dark Arts is for, isn't it? Learning to defend oneself practically and theoretically is quite important, but looking for trouble and starting an association for that purpose is stupid!

[[Yes, I'm making two assumptions here: 1) the world is not under immediate danger and 2) the DADA teacher isn't a twat.]]

Granger. I nearly died. I could have been killed. The adults are not listening to me that I was attacked. Obviously, we need to take this into our own hands and we could really use your mind and knowledge. If you don't come, we'll do this anyway.

Who have you talked to and what have they said, exactly?

The nurse thought that I was pulling a prank and that was her 'professional opinion.' She was going to tell the headmaster that there was no attack. You know the headmaster will trust her over me.

The problem with that, Hermione, is that trouble has already come looking. If something is wandering around school, attacking people while they're handicapped, isn't not preparing to defend ourselves to our fullest asking for trouble?

It sounds more like over-zealous bullying to me.

Sounds like it could turn that way - so maybe it is important to make sure that people who see that that could happen participate to try to keep the thing on the right track?

You think that we're being overzealous? You think this is just bullying? I'm not bullying anyone, Granger. I'm trying to make sure no one gets hurt.

Hermione, what if another student gets attacked? As a fellow Prefect, I don't think you'd be able to sit around and let that happen.

Especially if the possibility is open of a younger student getting attacked.
