Okay, so the audition went very well I thought.
Well, it ended well, started badly. How you might ask? In the dance audition I landed on my ankle after doing a jump. So that hurt a bit and totally killed my confidence so it took me a while to get myself together to practise my monologue.
But after a while I practised a few times and went in. So I decided in the end to sing Good Morning Baltimore which meant I had the Hairspray song book. Whilst one of the other production team members was out of the room I was just chatting to the rest of them and pointed out that in the Hairspray book the pictures included Matthew Morrison (Mr Shu in Glee) as Link Larkin. Apparently showing her this made one of the production team's day. I wonder if that'll help my chances. It definately perked up my performance.
So I sang my song and I really got into it. Seriously, I felt chills singing it. I also got a few giggles out of them from my monologue, which was from The Devil Wears Prada (incidently a few of us decided that they should totally make a musical of that). Then I did a thing where I had to memorize a few lines of dialogue in five minutes. Luckily it was easy.
So not a great start, but I felt good about the main bit about the audition and even if I don't get in (although I hope I do) I'm cool with the audition I gave and that's good too.
I'll find out tuesday night/wendesday morning and you will be the first to know about my success. Well, the production team will be first, I'll be second, and depending where I am other people like my housemates will be third, then my parents, but I swear this blog is in the top ten of people/things I tell.
Peace out
