(no subject)
woah whatta crazy week. last sunday i became a soldier! i went to this special base and had to go thru this whole "chain" of things. first i had to do dental pics, then give them my fingerprints, then take an ID pic, then get 2 shots (one for tetanus, one for meningitus), then i got my dogtags!, then went to get my uniforms (and was there for like an hour trying to get the right size for me)... then i wore the new uniforms out of the base. it felt so weird wearing them.
but anyways, i went on the bus along with the other ppl from the program and heading over to a base a couple hours north of tel aviv.
and there, we had mini boot camp and practice basic training. i had to wake up at like 6 every morning and go to bed at 11. long and hot hot days. i stood outside in the sun for hours. commanders were yelling at us to run, to do pushups and the such. one day we even went out into the bush and learned how crawl thru terrain, cool shit like that. that night we even had a "mission" to do out there. it was actually wicked fun... but i probably stepped in cow shit or something... ewww..
i also shot a M16!!! yay! it was so intense holding this weapon in my arms. i loved it. well its good that i liked it cuz thats the job i want in the army. being a weapon instructor. lets just hope i get it...
my group also had kitchen duty one night. we had to wash like hundreds of dishes and pots and pans. but it was fun cuz we blasted trance and danced around in our sweaty wet uniforms.
finally finally, thursday afternoon, after standing in the sun for fuckin hours, i hopped on a bus on the way to tel aviv. i was all smelly cuz me and a few girls made a pact not to shower. the showers were public, which didnt bother me, but they were fucking nasty. just imagine how dirty ur shower wud be if like 2 hundred girls showered in it. ... so i just like washed my hair in a faucet outside my room....which by the way, i slept with 11 other girls. eleven!!
so basically this week was fuckin different, and quite an experience.
finally im sitting here squeaky clean with larry and ready to go out to celebrate our 6 month anniversary.
