Warning[s]: Spoilers for Deathly Hallows?

#39 - Torn
He had heard it said that when a twin died, it left the other feeling like they had been torn in half, and George had felt exactly that when he saw Fred lying on the ground, never to laugh again.

#30 - Ghost
And the thing is, George remembered that when Sirius died, Harry went to Nearly Headless Nick to see if Sirius was coming back; but when Fred died, he knew it was no use.

#26 - Goodbye
The thing that hurt the most was that he didn’t even get to say goodbye.

#40 - History
They had made history at the Battle of Hogwarts, Hermione thought, but she couldn’t help but wonder if it was worth it, especially when she saw George.

#50 - Believe
He wanted to believe again, in anything, he really did, but he just didn’t know how he could.

#33 - Never
George never thought Hermione would be offering to help him in the shop, but there she was, standing in front of him - and he couldn’t say no, because Merlin knows that he wasn’t able to do this alone.

#08 - Thousand
“If I say it once, I’ll say it a thousand times, George Weasley,” Hermione began, “I’ll stay until you no longer need me.”

#18 - Attention
He didn’t want all the attention, everyone looking at him with cautious eyes, he just wanted things to go back to normal - but then again, he was the one who started sentences waiting for Fred to finish them, and was greeted with only silence.

#49 - Hunger
She just wanted to help him, to fix him, to make him happy and able to laugh again, the way he used to-before Fred.

#44 - Wall
Hermione threw up her hands in frustration and said crossly, “You’ll have to talk about it sometime, George, you can’t just shut your feelings about his death out-it happened, and you can’t pretend it didn’t.”

#17 - Vision
She had never really seen him before, she realized, and she hated herself just a little bit that it had taken him being broken for her to see how good he was.

#24 - Now
George wondered why it was only now, after the war, that he saw Hermione as the wonderfully beautiful and clever woman that she was; he should’ve noticed a lot sooner.

#38 - Wash
It was a new phenomenon with him; whenever rain would fall from the darkened sky, George would stand outside with his arms spread wide, as if hoping it would cleanse him of the past and everything that he had never wanted to happen.

#36 - Stop
One night, as George stood beneath the rainfall, Hermione shouted at him to stop, that this was enough-and he turned to look at her, and knew that she was right.

#15 - Hold
As George’s shoulders shook, Hermione pulled him close and whispered that it would be okay, she promised, and he believed.

#11 - Blur
After that night, time passed in a blur for George in a way he never thought possible, and he found himself thanking Hermione one day because she had made it happen.

#09 - King
Hermione remembered the chant the Gryffindors had for Ron during their fifth year (Weasley is our king, Weasley can catch anything), and she thought with remorse that he could catch anything except for her heart.

#22 - Mad
Hermione glared at George one last time and then slammed the door behind her; he regretted immediately insinuating that she only came to see him because she was tired of Ron.

#48 - Precious
“Well, Hermione,” said George, “I’ve always said that a man doesn’t hurt what’s precious to him without remorse.”

#02 - Cool
Snow was falling, and the air was crisp and cool; it was the first Christmas since the Battle of Hogwarts, since Fred and everyone else, and Hermione looked over at George and knew how hard this was for him, and took his hand in her own.

#10 - Learn
As George lay in bed that night, his palm still tingling from the pressure of Hermione’s hand, he promised himself that he would learn to laugh again, if only for her sake, because she was trying so hard, and she deserved as much.

#14 - Command
Hermione lay in bed and commanded herself to take some time away from George; she needed it, she said to herself, because things weren’t going at all the way she had planned, and she was starting to feel things she shouldn’t for her best friend’s older brother.

#37 - Time
Hermione had left sometime in the early hours of the morning, and George didn’t see her for months; things weren’t the same without her, and if he didn’t know better, he’d say that time passed even slower than it did right after the Battle of Hogwarts.

#46 - Drive
While she was away, Hermione learned to drive a Muggle car, but the fact was that she could never drive far enough away to forget George.

#27 - Hide
“You can’t hide from him forever, Hermione,” said Ginny crossly, and Hermione knew that the youngest Weasley was right.

#04 - Last
It was the first birthday George was to share without Fred, but certainly not the last, and while things would never be the same, he was grateful for the way some things had changed.

#32 - Eye
The Burrow was crowded, and Hermione looked about for Harry, for Ron, but instead she caught someone else’s eye and found herself unable to look away.

#01 - Motion
He made his way through the crowd over to Hermione and claimed a dance of her, and as they swayed together to a song by the Weird Sisters, George finally felt as though things might be okay.

#13 - Change
It was hard to pinpoint when exactly his feelings for Hermione had changed, but what mattered was that they had, and now he was in love with her.

#05 - Wrong
She was Ron’s girl, everyone knew it; there was no way she could ever see him as anything other than a trouble maker and someone she had to take care of.

#07 - One
If he had just one wish, George would wish for a single kiss with Hermione, just to know what it was like.

#34 - Sing
She was singing in the workroom of Weasleys Wizard Wheezes (something about she loves you yeah yeah yeah), and George watched from the doorway, and wished she was singing about him.

#20 - Picture
It was a Muggle saying, she supposed, but as she looked down at the picture in her hand, she thought that it really did look worth a thousand words.

#25 - Shadow
George walked into Hermione’s flat, and saw the picture lying on the floor; it was a rear view of Hermione and himself walking away from the Burrow, and their shadows were positioned in such a way that it looked like they were holding hands.

#35 - Sudden
George was stacking Patented Daydream Charms on a table by the door and suddenly Hermione was in love with him, the grandest sort of realization.

#28 - Fortune
Hermione had never really believed in fortune telling, but when Lavender gave a cry and said something about romance, she found herself hoping.

#16 - Need
Ever since the war, Hermione had been afraid, and all she needed was someone to make her feel not so alone.

#29 - Safe
“I’ll keep you safe, Hermione,” whispered George, and as his mouth found hers, he knew that it was a long time coming.

#45 - Naked
No matter what Ron had said, she had never slept with Viktor, but she did sleep with George; and when she did so, as she lay naked in his arms, she was the most beautiful she had ever been.

#31 - Book
She had always looked for the answers to her problems in books, but after things with George took a turn she knew she wouldn’t find the answer in any book, magic or Muggle.

#47 - Harm
George never meant to do any harm by loving Hermione, but when he looked in his brother’s eyes, he could see that he had, but he couldn’t feel guilty about it.

#21 - Fool
“We are all fools in love,” said Harry gently to Hermione, and as he walked away she felt a little less guilty about what was happening between George and herself.

#12 - Wait
All they would have to do was wait for Ron’s anger to subside, although they both felt that he had no right to feel angry; it was his fault, after all, for not treating Hermione the way that she deserved.

#06 - Gentle
He had seen the relationships she had been in, the way they had been all arguments and dissatisfaction, so one evening he pulled her close and assured her that love could be gentle.

#41 - Power
George’s parents had taught him well, and he knew not to disrespect women, but he wouldn’t deny that he felt the powerful pull of ownership (she’s mine, I get to kiss that, and sleep next to that at night) when he called Hermione “Mrs. Weasley”.

#43 - God
Neither Hermione nor her parents had been particularly religious, but she would swear that someone had to be looking out for her, because how else would she have ended up with George?

#42 - Bother
George always thought that he was nothing but a bother to people, and when he said so to Hermione, she laughed and said, “In that case, come bother me some more, Mr. Weasley.”

#03 - Young
From the time she was young, Hermione knew that she would marry a red-headed man; she just thought it would be a different one.

#19 - Soul
If anyone had asked George, he would have said that Hermione had saved him and that without her his soul would have been lost; but, no one did ask him, so he kept it as his own little secret.

#23 - Child
It went unspoken between the two of them that if the child she bore was a boy, he would be named Fred, after the uncle he would never get to meet.
