I'm exhausted

So yesterday morning, Kelline drove us in in her SUV. By afternoon, the SUV had disappeared with the promise that we would be picked up in the evening. Well, that promise also disappeared, and the next thing I knew, I was stranded at the base with no ride home. Traffic was so bad that a BUNCH of people didn't go home. Several people tried to go home, but after sitting on 405 for 4 hours, gave up and came back to the base.

Well, so the slumber party was actually pretty fun. We went to Fred Meyer to get some supplies and some munchies. We ate and watched some TV, then joined about 10 people on the floor in "Classroom B". (I slept about 5 feet away from The Mexican From East Base.) The conditions were not that great, so I ended up with about 30 minutes of sleep.

In the morning, I went downstairs to sign in for my 2 hour tripper, and Chuck, our dispatcher, informed me that it was canceled. I worried that I wouldn't get paid, but he assured me I would. He then one-upped me and gave me a 8 HOUR RUN on the 222. That there's full time work! I had heard of the things that can happen to part-timers when it snows, but I never thought it would happen to me. Apparently work rules and the entire contract go out the window when it's "an emergency". Sooo... I got 4.5 hours of overtime today that would never have normally been given to a part-timer. I drove pretty much non-stop from 5:30am-6:30pm. With 30 minutes of sleep. I am quite pleased with myself.
