Ok, so just got back from LA with Kimmy. We were visiting Connie the 7-month pregnant Mormon. Here's the scoop:
Friday: We landed at 9am, got picked up, and taken to the beach. We intended to go to Laguna Beach, but missed it and ended up at Dana Point. Then we went up to Huntington Beach and saw the surfers. It was also there where I got my "Surrender the Booty" sticker. That night we went to the Angels vs. Rangers game. What Connie neglected to tell us was that it was Mormon night! Our entire section was packed full of Mormons. It was kind of creepy. There was an excellent fireworks display afterwards, and we could also see a bit of the Disneyland fireworks that go off every night at 9pm.
Saturday: This day was taken up mostly with baby shower activities. It was kind of weird that Kimmy and I were the only baby-less, non-Mormon people at the shower. Everybody was asking me if I was married yet, and had kids yet, and when I said no they tilted their head to the side and gave me a sypathetic, "that's too bad."
Sunday: Universal Studios, (and MY BIRTHDAY) It was a lot of fun. We waited in a lot of lines, but at the Terminator show we got to go to the front of the line because Connie was pregnant. That was pretty awesome. We then had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe where I got a free dessert and a round of happy birthday from the crowd.
Monday: Early AM flight home. When the plane landed I turned on my phone and got a happy birthday voicemail message from............... Ricardo! I think my stomach tied itself into a big knot after that, and I haven't managed to recover since. ugggggghhhhh. Well, after getting off the plane, I hopped on a bus and came straight back to work! I'm crazy, I know. Oh, which reminds me, and Universal Studios I got a shirt that says, "I've got a black belt in crazy" with a picture of a little karate kicking guy.
