iPod Scooter girl

Okay, so I never thought I would really get into the whole 'apple iPod" hype until the iTouch and iPhone came out and that really had an effect on me... lol. Other than that, I wanted an Mp3 player but I didn't see the reason one should buy a more expensive iPod versus another brand that could be just as good. Of course, one has to do research to figure out what's good but I found great respect in geek world for most Sansa sandisk products and always leaned in that direction. Due to financial situations, I couldn't be picky and at one point won a "Creative Muvo" and I like it. It has a mic, 'had' great earphones until they were 'killed' and you can see the music that is currently playing on it... as well as lyrics though I never figured out how to put those on there.. lol.

Well, in this last week, I found out that I won a iPod Shuffle 2nd generation and it did pan out. It arrived yesterday via UPS. I'm amazed at how fast it got here. I don't know HOW it got here THAT fast. The form the place needed was faxed Monday to Toronto Canada and they sent the prize from Canada... I got it... Tuesday.... I really don't see HOW that happened but whatever the case, I have it in my hands. I have to say, it was quite exciting to open the package and find this little piece of technological metal. It's TINY. I know I have seen them before attatched to people however, I never really was in tune to just how SMALL the thing is. My Muvo is like a package of Extra gum or Trident... something of that sort which I always felt was quite small especialy since I have had a CD player for many yeard but this thing is like.. well as one reviewer said... a lot like one of those 'wraped lindt chocolate squares" or I would say Ghradelli chocolate squares just because I love them more.. haha.

It all came in a handy dandy clear box with the iPod shuffle centered like a jewel. Clear square case and all. Taking the packaging off wasn't too difficult once I found it as it was quite translucent. Underneath held the earbuds, charger, a little card key to show you what the buttons and lights meant and a quick start guide. .. oh yeh.. and two 'apple insignia' stickers.. for what" not sure.. lol

Still, I thought... Okay.. it's small... it's sleek... it's a namebrand thing that people recognize but still so what.... why should I use this as opposed to the Creative Muvo that I already own and love. The one pro is the nice little clip made onto the Shuffle.. clips to your person... and my muvo doesn't. You can buy a seperate apparatus for like $30.00 (an arm band)... yeh right.. as if....

Okay so the clip.. I like that... than it hit me.... took me awhile to get it but I finally found something that made the shuffle Superior than my mp3 player in a big way! NO Batteries! Well, yeh, it has a battery but it's RECHARGEABLE.... it comes with a Charger that uses your computer to charge as it uploads your music too! Charges up in 4 hours.. light turns green when it's ready and it plays for 10 hours I believe? WOW. I would say this is Environmental friendliness and that I like a lot. YAY. My Muvo... now... it doesn't use tons of batteries.... one AAA battery and plays for around 8-9 hours. Sometimes it seems to play more but I can't really estimate. I use about 2 batteries a month if I buy the 'good' kind. But still, that's a lot of extra batteries to get rid of and I know they should not be put into the trash so I have a huge collection of batteries that need to be properly discarded of so yeh... I'm absolutely impressed that this shuffle takes Charges....  so yeh.. i'm sold now.

I plan to keep my Creative Muvo mp3 in case this little shrimpy Shuffle breaks. I'm listening to it now. The earbuds are actually staying in my ears. On the apple site, they charge about $30bucks for these earbuds... that's insane but the sound quality is excellent. The volume is wonderful, the base is present.. I can't even put it close to the loudest setting and that's never happened before.... I ussualy blast my poor ears to death but this thing is actually too loud for me to bare so yeh... I'm happy with this little piece of technology and iPod has won me over.

I'm a little unclear on the iTunes thing. It sorta autofilled on me and I didn't know how to stop that so it randomly downloaded like 230 something songs that i own but don't necessarily listen to ALL of them.... so I'm sure I will fix that another day.

Now that I have written and entire paper on the iPod shuffle, I will include exhibits as well.. haha.

< this is what mine looks like in it's little doc and I tried to make my typing color match... hehe.

<-- the packaging it came in... ooooh aaaaah

<-- the ear buds with terrific sound and amazingly are staying in my ear (for now)... still can't see how Apple can charge $30.00 for them if you buy them seprately? Capitalism

<-- average size Mouse... Shuffle next to it... yeh.. it really is small.. I think it will blend in with some of my clothes :)

Okay.. I'm done showing off my new toy.. thanks for putting up with me... hehe
