Character Information
Lois is often seen as a tough-as-nails, gutsy girl reporter. She and her younger sister Lucy had a difficult childhood, growing up with her father, who was first an army doctor, and then a general. He was somewhat strict, and a bit cold after his experiences, which led to her parents separating multiple times. She's always had a love for journalism, even as a child, and she's known Perry White and worked for the Daily Planet on and off since she was barely a teenager. By the time she'd hit her early twenties, she'd soared through the Daily Planet's ranks, becoming the newspaper's top reporter, and possibly even its most famous.
When Superman first showed up on the scene, she had a slight crush on him, but had no idea that he was actually her new partner, Clark Kent, in disguise. She and Clark were sort of rivals at first, but slowly became friends, then best friends, and then eventually they began dating and fell in love. During the time they were just friends, Lois briefly dated the much-older Lex Luthor, who became obsessed with her. In recent months, Lois figured out, on her own, that Clark and Superman were one in the same, and admitted that she knew when he asked her to marry him. They became engaged, but their days of happiness were numbered. After an epic battle with the monster known as Doomsday, Clark, as Superman, died in Lois's arms.
Though she is based during a comics storyline, this Lois Lane's personality and history is mixed with that of the Lois & Clark version of the character. Any canon immediately following Superman's funeral is being disregarded for the time being.
