Happy New Year! I spent the first day of the new year with my family in King of Prussia at brunch. Not a bad time. We played some new board game for The Simpsons--Loser Takes All, I think, or something like that. You win the game by losing. Eh, who understands those things anyway? My sister has a friend over now, so she's being extra bitchy just to show how much cooler she is than me, but who cares.
I had a fantabulous time on Moday-Tuesday!!! I saw Nina during the day and even though I was so sick that I felt like I was moving through a dream, I couldn't have had more fun. We went out to lunch with her mom at the Charcoal Pit, which was one of my mom's favorite childhood restaurants. After some major hanging-out/soap opera time and a very cute Nala gift, we went out to ice cream at this little place where they make all the stuff homemade and then mix in chocolate chips or whatever right in front of you on a frozen cutting board. Awesome! And then Steph caught up with us and "picture time" commenced. The posse lives! Minus Eric, of course, but one day we will all be reunited. We traveled to my house and talked for a little while, where we decided that Sean Astin (sp?) looks like a teddy bear and should marry Steph, should he ever divorce his wife...but only when it won't be considered statuatory rape. Sam = hero. Steph, I think, has frightened all of my friends with her funerific conversations via instant message on Monday night. Btw--What is your favorite sex toy? Coffee at 3:00? Why, certainly! Appropo and Abscond. Bring out your dead! Just so you all know, Steph is a real person, not my alter ego, although she does help me get in touch with my utterly corrupted self. I have missed her so much! I dont know how I survived this long without seeing her. Hopefully she'll be able to come up for another weekend soon. So, anyway...Tuesday we just hung out and watched movies with David/Pennsylvania Andrew and were exceptionally hyper due to lack of sleep. (We actually woke up Melissa around 4.00 am. Ooops.) Running around the backyard playing hide and seek...who could forget that? Well, then the good times had to end as Steph and Dave had to go home.
I spent new years with the fam., doing the customary movie fest. This year's theme was pretty sad--People in High School/College. We ended up with Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (Party On, Dude! Be excellent to each other), Dumb and Dumberer (you've got to be nuts if you think I'd watch that), and Legally Blond(e?). We had the customary dinner of orderves (well, it's the most understandable way I could spell it) and then went to bed at midnight. 2004 doesn't feel much different than 2003. I even forgot that today was January, not December.
This morning I woke up with only 10 minutes to get ready for brunch, which was not fun. Tomorrow I'm babysitting in the morning and hanging out with Izzy/Anna and Izzy in the afternoon. Grrr, waking up at 7.00 tomorrow is going to be a pain, but Arden and Jonah are adorable and I could use the money. I hope Anna's parents will release her shakles, even if just for one afternoon.
I still have my cold and I don't expect to shake it any time soon, but o well. Winter = sick time. That's just a given. I get back to life as normal on Sunday with work and class, maybe some hang time with David to try out the new Mario Cart. We'll see. I wish winter vacation could last just a little bit longer. I'm not ready to get back to life.
new year's,
family,
