Banned Activities
Mars, Incorporated, forbids the following activities, and those posing similar risks, during work-related events:
- bungee jumping
- hang gliding
- personal watercraft (includes Wave Runners, Jet Skis, and such)
- parachuting
- flying in helicopters at resorts or for sightseeing
- walking on hot coals
- sledging
- quadbikes
- dune buggies

The above activities create an unacceptable safety risk to associates, to Mars, Incorporated, and possibly to third parties. Participation in such activities has frequently resulted in serious injury and, in some cases (for example, in use of personal watercraft), the death of participants. Furthermore, any injury to an associate or third party creates the potential for a court to hold Mars, Incorporated, responsible for sponsoring or allowing associates to participate in such activities.

Mars, Incorporated, requires that associates attending any group meeting (including team-building exercises, management team meetings, conferences, sales and promotional meetings) be warned not to participate in the above activities. An associate who does participate will be subject to disciplinary action.
