So I finished yesterday but couldn't bring myself to write about it yet. By the end i was so emotionally drained I couldn't do anything. I went to bed listening to the 5th Harry Potter soundtrack, which i got for my bithday and cried myself to sleep. She did some things that I can never forgive her for, she crossed to the line. Many of my theories were correct, some not. I didn't really like the end, after all that, after all that happened, the ending didn't seem to fit. You can't win them all. All in all I'm ready for them to be satisfied, my heart is broken, but I'm satisfied.
My Theories That Came True
Harry was a horcrux
Snape was a good guy (never a doubt)
Snape was in love with Lily (hence the hating of Harry)
Harry would go back to Hogwarts
Harry and Ginny would not stay split up
R.A.B. was indeed Regulus Black
Lupin and Tonks getting married
In a way Snape died in the end to help Harry
Finally Ron and Hermione got together (took them long enough)
The downfall of the Ministry
The patronous doe was Lily cast by Snape
Wormtail dying for Harry
Draco being good (in a way)
can't think of anymore right now
My Theories That Didn't Come True
Voldemort AND Harry both would die
Snape would die sacrificing himself for Harry (I only wish)
I dunno, most came true
People Who I Thought Would Die For Sure and Did
snape
Voldemort
Scrimgeour
Wormtail
People I Thought She Might Kill and Hoped She Wouldn't
These were all thought of before I read the book
Neville
The Twins (I hate you J.K.)
Lupin ( I hate you so much J.K.)
Ron
Hermione
Draco
People She Killed That Shocked Me
Mad-eye (Why? He was so amazing)
Dobby (OMG I cried so much)
Colin Creevey (Poor Colin, he tried so hard)
Lupin AND Tonks (At this point I no longer thought she'd kill Lupin. Both of them though, that was so terrible and unnecessary)
FRED ( His death came as the most shocking, I thought he was safe because she had already done something to George. i cared and cried the most about his death. His death I believe, was the most unnecessart one)
Crabbe (In the sense that I didn't expect it. I didn't really care though)
People She Killed and I Was Happy About
Belatrix (I love you Mrs. Weasley)
Plot
Enough about all the killing and onto the plotline. I didn't really expect the book to play out like it did. I'm not sure what I did expect but that wasn't it. It wasn't a bad thing it was a good thing. So much happened and we learned so much. Some of the most shocking events occured so early on in the book. I expected the downfall of the Ministry of Magic and death of Scrimgeour but not so early on in the book. She killed Mad-eye right off too. Poor George's ear, at least he survived. I love the Twin's that they kept everthing humorous, making jokes about George being holely. Fred and George amazed me the most, they kept everything a joke cherishing life even till the end. She went all out, no shame. I did figure that they would spend most of their time to finding horcruxes. Wow Godric Hollow, how crazy was that? I'm really glad that Ron came back, I was really mad at him when he left, for Hermione's sake. Can I just say how much I LOVE Kreacher. He was so great. That thing that I really didn't like was finding out the "truth" about Dumbledore. I think that she was killing an already dead man, destroying his memory. Even if it's in the text I'm going to always think of him as the Richard Harris Dmbledore, the kind and loving man who we've known for 6 books. Even if she showed him to not be the man we thought he was, he showed remorse throughout, he showed that he cared and that he was sorry, that is a good man. I do love Aberforth. He was so awesome and great, never expected that he was the barman. I wish that he had been more involved in the other books. My favorite chapter was: The Prince's Tale. I'm so glad that Harry was able to see how good Snape was. He is probably the most noble person in the books, quite possibly my favorite, with the exception of Sirius. I cried so much when he died, "Look...at...me..." he wanted to see Lily's eyes before he died. I aslo really loved when Harry used the resurrection stone. The reappearance of James, Lily, Sirius, and Lupin was a brilliant scene. I cried a lot at that, my second favorite part. Harry being a horcrux was interesting. I wasn't surprised because that was one of my original theories but I wasn't sure she was going to do it. I was kind of diappointed that they didn't kill each other. All though I really liked Harry int this book I think it would have been better if he had died. after, Sirius, Dumbledore, Mad-eye, dobby, Fred, Lupin, Tonks, Colin, and Snape, after all those deaths Harry gets to live, to live happily ever after. It just didn't seem right to me. I suppose the fact that Harry and Ginny named their children James, Albus Severus, and lily made it better for me. also Nevill working at Hogwarts as the herbology teacher was very nice too. The thing that sealed the deal was: "Albus Severus," Harry said quietly, so that nobody but Ginny could hear, and she was tactful enough to pretend to be waving at Rose, who was now on the train, "you were named for two headmasters of Hogwarts. One of them was a Slytherin and he was probably the bravest man I ever knew."
My heart was melted and I was okay with the end, I still am not completely satisfied, I don't like it, but that made it okay for me, I accepted it. So, it's the end and I am happy, it was a truly wonderful series.
For something that has given me so much, so many emotions, all those different adventures, for over half of my life, I thank you J.K.
