Imposing arbitrary deadlines on myself doesn't really work. The truth is, I know those deadlines are just some dates I made up for myself, so I never feel pressured to meet them. I've been thinking about creative practices in regards to time management, discipline, and follow through. Today's idea was to set aside 30 minutes a day to work on certain projects. But I already know that "set aside X minutes every day" doesn't work for me. Whether it's 15 minutes to clean, 20 minutes to exercise, or some other sliver of time, I won't do it.

So it goes back to the question of why I even need to think about setting up a creative practice for myself. I could forget all the about. I could focus more on my time consuming job and get involved in professional committees and things. I could just leave it as something to do if/when I feel like, which is the state I'm in now. I could give up the atim domain name and close up shop. I'm not going to, though.

Just some things I'm thinking about as I wait for some ink to dry. And now it's time for me to leave for work.
