so i'm in baltimore. tuesday my sister and i went to edgar allan poe's grave and took some melancholy photos involving some wet roses and a cigarette. later walked all around following signs to his house, which is apparently in the blackiest black part of the city. so there we were, two white girls wandering around in bright jackets, when this kindly old black man was like, "EY! you lookin' for the edgar poe house!" and we were like "hellz yeah" and he was like, "i can tell you kinda folk around here lookin' for the edgar poe house" and so he was like, "don't follow those signs, go right down this sketchy alley," and lo and behold the man was so right. poe's house was sort of inappropriately depressing, and we didn't even get to go in because it closes at 3:45. huh?
also, i am realizing more and more that i hate kids. it's kind of sad because i'm pretty sure i used to be a kid at one point. also, it's nothing personal, and i don't mean to be an asshole, but i can't help it. here are my reasons:
1) their jokes are not funny. so i am not going to laugh.
2) they run around like a herd of stampeding buffalo when i am trying to sleep at 7:45 am.
3) they enjoy watching mary-kate and ashley olsen movies.
hmm, i'm sure there are more.
thanksgiving was fairly uneventful. but slightly amazing as it was at my brother-in-law's very obese parents' home. stephanie and i made a pumpkin pie, which we thought was normal size, but next to their footlong diameter pies it was dwarfed and i felt inferior. this metaphor can also be extended to real life, size-wise.
guess i'm going to new hampshire. my adopted home!
