Aftermath
And as the sun rises, we step out of our doors to survey the destruction.
Shredded foliage has replaced our streets. Powerlines sway dangerously low, threatening the lives of the unwary. Trees have crumpled under the sheer force of mother nature, bearing down on our homes and property. Shingles torn from rooftops and scattered about the yards. Lives are changed forever as we gather as neighbors and friends to repair the damage.
We stand in awe, reminded once again, just how powerful the forces of this world are.
And thankful, once again, that we survived another day.
I hope all of you made it through without much to worry about. I can't get in touch with anyone at all. The phone companies are mostly all down as far as I can tell. We just got power back. We have pretty moderate roof damage, and the fence around our pool is damaged. We have 1 tree down. A ton more trees are down all around us. I think one even landed on the house behind ours. It's hard to tell at the moment.
