I'm pro-life but I think we need to teach people how to not get pregnant so they won't need an abortion.

my best friend is a social worker. i hear about it more than once in a while.

no offense but maybe your friend shouldn't be a social worker. it sounds like she is making value judgements.

seriously, and maybe you and you friend should take a few minutes to really think about the implications of what you've written and the racist stereotypes they perpetuate. There's nothing wrong with internalized racism, we've all got it, but if your friend hasn't really, hardcore examined hers that is a problems because he/she has so much power over the women who come into his/her office.
Some of my friends are low-income moms, some of them are teenagers, and all of them have stories of being treated like shit by well-educated, middle class, white social workers.

do you have a problem with that? The only flaw I see is that abortion is a pretty expensive form of birth control.

not really, it is expensive but could lead to complications later along the way if they do decide to have kids. of the people that i know that practice this method, it is because they don't like wearing condoms. also, from my friend who is a social worker, its the same thing and they can hardly take care of the kids that they already have.
