I actually did some Valentine's Day style baking last weekend, when I surprised the family with freshly baked flourless chocolate cake. The recipe was much easier than I thought it would be and the cake turned out absolutely delicious and sinful. I served it with a sprinkle of icing sugar and a nice dollop of whipped cream with just a touch of vanilla added to it. I think unsweetened whipped cream or a bit of creme fraiche or sour cream would have been very nice as well!

Surprisingly, the cake was still very nice the next day (I was doubtful about that because the recipe mentioned that it was better to eat the cake warm from the oven). The texture had turned from moist and rich to almost fudge-like. This is definitely a cake that needs to be served in small slices with a cup of ristretto on the side. There might be a recipe later ;)
