I'm at a koto and dance recital today, watching my teacher's teacher and her other students. They just gave me a bento as a gift (the performers are paying for them, and I'm not good enough to perform yet). Small kindnesses like these happen to me often, and make me feel so welcome and valued. So, I resolve as of right now that I will live simply so that I can save money, so that I can always afford to be generous, in small and big ways, to other people.
