Something smells like vinegar.
I walked/trained home again this morning. Last night was much better than last Saturday though. I never did post about that, so I'll have to get around to that sometime.
So, first was Jessica's surprise party. I didn't got to the sledding half because of weather (high winds and blowing snow, but also several days of above 0 before, making the snow grainy and nasty). Instead I made Jessica's card. Rosina, Diana and I taxied from Carleton to the Greek Souvlaki restaurant where the birthday dinner was held. We had fun, although my conversation with Jessica (and most of the table) was severely limited by our distance apart. The table was kind of divided into BPAPM people on one end and Daily Show people on the other. We decided that the old suitemates would go out and party somewhere, because Jessica and co. were waiting to go to 80s night at Barrymore's tonight. I have class on Monday mornings, so I'm not so up for that.
So Rosina and I went home to change and get booze. I couldn't figure out what to wear, most of my clubbing clothes being dirty since having gone twice (kind of) in the past week (I'm spending so much money! Eeek!!). I need more clothes. I need to find stores that make clothes that I like and fit me. [On a completely unrelated note, Bootlegger's website definitely has a media player, and the first song is... Livin' On A Prayer - Bon Jovi, lol. This amuses me. But... Thunder Bay has two Bootleggers and the closest one to me here is Kingston?! wtf? I wanted to look at those shirts and didn't have a chance at home.] Also boots would be nice, so I have nice shoes that I can wear and not get frostbite. No frostbite this time! (Although you might not have known about the frostbite from last Saturday) So, yes, anyway, I ended up borrowing one of Rosina's shirts, which I didn't think fit me as well as it does her, but everyone said it was good, so I went with it. Sam did my makeup. We were about to leave when Chris called. Apparently he was quite upset, so Rosina backed out of the partying and was going to talk with him. So I went to South Keys to get ready (drink) with the girls.
We drank, Joni and Diana got pretty drunk, Laura and I not so much. Much dancing around the kitchen ensued. Then we went to the bus stop and had loud drunken conversations of questionable taste. We got to the club without event.
The Cabin and Pub 101 are just across from each other, so we were trying to decide which to go to, and since the line at Pub 101 was basically non-existent, we went there. At first it was kind of slow, and the first two floors were just tables and pool and such, and the dance floor seemed kind of small. But things got better. We were totally the most energetic/wild people there at the beginning, so we got a LOT of attention. There was the other woman, whose dancing would best be described as erotic (although the most common descriptor was 'whore') who seemed to resent this, kind of like she was used to being the centre of attention, so she was kind of trying to compete. As usual, Diana was stealing the show, and they got into a little competition/dance off and Diana won by virtue of being able to dance stylishly in addition to provocatively. Get Right came on, and so the girls attempted the dance to it, but they'd forgotten parts so it ended up a bit of a mess, but a black guy with a boyish face was all like "what's going on here?" to me, so I explained it was a thing they'd all done together, a memories thing, so he cleared a space and watched them, which didn't turn out well because they'd all forgotten. The black guy tried to orchestrate a second dance off between the other woman and her group, and Diana and ours, but that crumbled. Anyway, we were just dancing with each other, wild and full o energy and having lots of fun, and we kind of picked up a group of guys for a while. They left eventually. We also picked up a couple of Columbians, David and Julien. A song with a salsa beat came on, so they salsaed with Diana and Laura. It was SO cool. I ended up dancing alone for a lot, which was kind of irriating, but what ev. At the end we kind of danced with a bunch of other crazy dancing people and it got quite fun. We met up with Devon and Sheldon just as we were leaving, and they and one of the Columbians caught the bus back with us. So I met Sheldon and his friend Lauren (male). We left the Columbian on the bus and didn't even say goodbye, unfortunately. He looked quite lonely. Everyone else was sleeping over. Lauren and I got the living room, so we talked until about 5 am, then slept. Lauren seemed very cool.
So yes. That is the quick version. No long version because I can't be bothered to write it all out. The gist: I had a great time and I think everyone else did too. Except maybe Rosina... I have yet to see her.
And I'm planning on heading out at least once more this week. Ack! I know I said I wanted to have more funt his term, I'm going to need a break! And so is my wallet :S
