Things are getting better

No venting in this post... Things are good this week, not much to complain about. I had a GREAT weekend with my roommate, Tricia, and her family. It was her parents' 25th Wedding anniversary, so they brought their RV down and stayed at a campground a few miles away from our house, and Tricia's older brother, Gene, and sister, Amanda, came (Gene just lives a few towns away in Ellsworth, but Amanda lives in Southern New Jersey). Amanda brought her friend Tara, and Tricia's boyfriend (ex? sorta kinda? Not real sure on that) Jay came up from Berwick, which is right near Portsmouth. :-) So it was a bunch of us, and we had a lobsterbake at the campground with lots and lots of lobsters, steamers, mussels, potatoes, corn, and just all around a good time. Then on Monday night, we all went out again to a little mexican place in downtown Bar Harbor, then walked around a bit, stopped at the Fish House Grill on the pier for desserts (or a chocolate martini, in my case). Then Jay, Tricia, and I went out to this bar/club called Rupununi's and had some shots, it was low key but SO much fun. It was just what I needed.

Then yesterday I drove 3 hours down to Portland to meet up with Deb and do some shopping for the wedding next week (I have a spaghetti-strap dress with a low back... it was tricky finding the right bra for it). $85 dollars later, I have all the undergarments I need for the wedding, then Deb and I went out to dinner at this place called the Macaroni Grill, it was Italian, and it made me miss Julie and our O.G. dates! The food was good, but it just wasn't right to eat Italian food without Julie. Then I drove 3 hours back up to Bar Harbor and I think I started feeling sick somehwere along the drive because it seemed to take FOREVER, and I was feeling dizzy and shaky. I got home at 10pm and went straight to bed.

Today went pretty well, we had a bunch of large parties in the Club Dining Room, so I had to be at work from 10am until 10pm and do desserts from 6pm on... It was kinda rough, because they don't have a "pastry section" of the line, so they set me up in the back prep-area, but I had to keep running back and forth from there into the walk in and freezer, and it was kinda chaotic. The servers fucked a few things up and it was frustrating, but we survived.

After work I SOMEHOW found myself walking down the street from the Club to Stewman's Lobster Pound, where Marco works, and he just HAPPENED to be walking up the entrance ramp bringing the trash out, so we just HAPPENED to stop and chat for a few minutes. He is so frickin cute, I can't even stand it. I think I am going to jump his bones (LOL just kidding). I will have to get a pic of him soon and post it. He came over on Tuesday night and we watched Saw 3 together... that movie is SERIOUSLY fucked up, and we ended up hiding under blankets and pillows for most of the movie... on separate couches, unfortunately. Next time we're going to watch The Hills Have Eyes 2, and maybe we'll be on the same couch for that one... *angelic smile* I'm going to invite him to be my date for my cousin's wedding in September, hopefully things will progress from there!

Okay, I'm off to bed now, I'm sure I'll have a long day tomorrow. I have to start working on the two wedding cakes I'm making for next week - fun!
