Finally home from Florida... it was a good trip overall, except that my sister was there and is incredibly rude to me at every chance she gets... even my aunts were noticing the things she said to/about me, and were getting angry with her. Oh well, she's a bitch.
So, we got to FL last Wednesday afternoon and I was wearing a sweatshirt and jeans... BAD IDEA. It was like, mid-80's there and beautifully sunny, a very big change from the 50 degrees and rainy that we left up here in New England. Thursday Mom, Jen, and I went to New Smyrna beach and I got a little bit red on my shoulders, but not bad. The swimming was awesome, except the waves had a really strong undertoe, so you really had to pay attention to where you were swimming, or else you'd get dragged off down the beach. Samantha, Ashley, Anthony, and Melinda showed up that afternoon, and the house hasn't been quiet since. Anthony, though in essence a sweet child, is a little terror. He'll be two in August, and the Terrible Twos are going to be particularly excruciating with this one... he has no discipline and just basically runs around doing whatever he wants, and if you try to stop him, he screams. Doesn't matter where he is, he'll scream. Like, in a restaurant, or say... my cousin's high school graduation. Like I said, he's a hellion.
Friday we all went to Turkey Lake Park to lay in the sun and go on the playground with Anthony. Megan graduated from East Ridge High School on Friday night, with 500 (!!!) other kids. The ceremony was surprisingly short, however. It was held in the Orange County Civic Center, which is a HUUUUUUGE ass building, could probably fit the Boston Fleet Center in it like, 3 times over. Crazy. Saturday I didn't feel well, so while Melinda, Ashley, Samantha, Anthony, and Jen went to Turkey Lake Park again, I stayed home with Mom and Aunt Lisa and read and helped them make food for Megan's graduation "party". Talked to Tim for a little while, then got a call from Aaron out of the blue, asking me if I could co-sign for him to get a loan to get a car. Uhhh, no. Sorry.
Saturday night was Megan's dance recital, it was pretty neat. Made me kinda wish I had taken dance when I was younger. After we got back from that, Ashley, Sam, Jen, Brandon, and I all crammed into Brandon's little car and went to I-drive to a billards bar and played some pool and had some drinks (Brandon and Ashley being underage of course, so we bought Brandon some shots, and he had Jim Beam in his car, so they went out to the car to drink). Sunday we all got up early and drove to Cocoa Beach and spent the day swimming, sunning, and shopping. And I got horrifically sunburned. I'm like, giving off a red radioactive glow right now. Ouch. At least I'll have a deep tan for a while when this fades. Last night, Ash, Brandon, and Jen went out somewhere, Megan went on a cruise with a friend of hers, and Sam and I went to Universal CityWalk. It was much fun, we got to walk around, do a little shopping, and just hang out. It was girl talk for me and her, much needed bonding for the only two cousins of the group who are the same age. I realized that I really really need ot hang out with her more often.
Woke up at 4:30 this morning, dealt with my sister being a bitch, and we drove to the Orlando Airport to catch our plane back to Boston at 7:30. By the way, for those of you who need to fly around the country, I strongly suggest Song, a division of Delta Airlines. Despite being a little trippy at first - think retro-70's peace and love - it was an amazing flight. Each person had their own TV in front of them and could either watch TV, order pay-per-view movies, listen to a wide selection of music, play games, check the weather, even track the flight. It was great. And now I'm home, and Shelby's happy that we're back, and I'm hungry but we're not doing anything special for Memorial Day. I want to go to my dad's to say hi, but my neighbors are having a cookout and their guests' cars are blocking me in, so I can't leave. Damn them. Oh well, I'm gonna go make some dinner. TTYL.
