Poor dear, Amelia Waterheart

So the last few day have been somewhat stressful. Thursday I bought a new betta so Amelia would have a brother.  Its a red male with long flowing fins.  She seemed to need some cheering up.  That night I really noticed she seemed sick so I was researching on the internet about illnesses and what not and Friday I went to Alamo Aquadic Pets for medicine.  They gave me some stuff, and her front fins started to look a little better but she still didn't look well.  It said to use the meds for 3-7 days so I figured it would take a few more days for it to really kick in.  So Yesterday morning I get up and start getting ready for the Super Happy Fun House Olymics, and decide to check on Amelia.  Thats when I really started to worry.  She was at the bottom of her bowl laying on her rocks and she couldn't really swim.  I called the pet store and the guy said put her in warmer water she is probably too cold since the weather change so I did and she began to swim a little and stay at the top again.  So I left for the games.  Then last night when I returned home from the competitions I went to check on her again and there she was at the bottom again with her head burried in the rocks and shaking like she was having convolsions.  This made me really sad because I pretty much knew it had to be it for her. I took out some of the water in her bowl, since I couldn't get her up with the net to place her in her smaller bowl, and then added some warmer water again only this time nothing happened. She couldn't move.  So I just said a prayer and hoped she would pull through the night.

So my alarms went of this morning and I kept hitting snooze because then hopefully I would have to know if she died in the night.  Finally, I figured I needed to find out so if I needed to get more meds I could.  I slowly walked over to her bowl and saw her just a few inches from where she had been last night, there laying on her side no longer breathing.  She had passed in the night.  So I gave her a proper toilet burrial and threw all her stuff away.  They said you can clean out bowls and stuff with bleach and water to reuse, but I'll just think of her anyways.  I sucks so much because I've had her for more than 2 years and she had the bubbliest personality I've ever seen in a fish.  I know it has to be my fault too because I let her bowl get really dirty recently and that had to do it.  Most sicknesses come from unclean water.  Now the only thing left I have from Kansas and Bethel are my memories.  Now I must take care of her brother, who still does not have a permenant name its either Poseidon/Neptune or King Triton.  What do yall think?

I miss her already...
