Tomorrow marks the beginning of my second week of school with students. The first weekend went pretty well. There were many issues with kids' schedules but other then that, things were good. I have two pretty large sped classes this year. Last year the most I ever had in a class was 10. Right now I have around 13 or so in two of them. There is talk about some kids going to BEST high school, and if that happens it will effect my class size. As the year goes, who know what will happen. I had about 4 students last year that left my school to either drop out or transfer to the BEST the alternative high school.
In order to get ready for my week, I have been grading papers, cleaning my room, and getting all the basic junk out of the way. In the process of cleaning I managed to give myself a nice fat lip with a vacuum cleaner. I was trying to change the belt, and well it just wasn't working. Right now I am doing laundry and cleaning my bathroom. What an exciting day.
Last night however, I went to a new club in Seattle, and the finished the night off at this weird trendy bar that use to be a chapel. I kind of like the chapel bar, but the club sort of sucked. It was Miami Vice themed, but the DJ must not have picked up on it. He started out playing good ol' 80's songs and then went into bad hip hop crap. I was really disappointed. Oh, and they decided to play old Michael Jackson videos the whole time, and they had this one video that was totally depressing. It was about war, oppression, and other downer stuff, playing while the DJ was playing Shaggy. I was like WTF?
Well I am going to get back to cleaning and organzing.
