Well hello all!
Welcome to Robbie's brand-spanking new, lovely LJ! I've barely figured anything out yet, but I'm sure I will ... eventually ;)
So first of all, I must say a big thank you to Raine for giving me the code thingy. Thankness Raine!
So yeah ... Sara tells me I must 'right' in here, so here goes.
Yesterday was the last day of a week of band camp. Blah. But actually, it wasn't that bad.
::wooks::
The flutes managed to have a lot of fun. And we won Outstanding section at the awards ceremony! Heeeeeeee! A position we've been vying for since last year when the stoopid saxes won. But that's okay, 'cause now we won. Allll year, baby! We still have to make shirts for the section. The burning question of the moment regarding those is what little catch phrase to put on them. And don't anyone dare suggest putting "And one time, at band camp ..." because we've taken plenty of that this week, thank you very much.
But the new band director, Mr. G is really great. He really cares about the program and about making things excellent. He feels, just like me, that if we're going to put any effort into it at all, we should put 100% and get something great for it. All the power to him! We're going to rock socks this year! Take that, Mr. Z you stooopid bastard! Hehe. I swear I'll stop being bitter ... soon.
We had the show for the parents last night and surprisingly, it went quite well. I successfully managed not to run into Anna or Vicki! Go me!! The only hitch was about half way through the performance, the sprinklers went off. 'Twas hilarious! I think the parents were pleasantly surprised. Langley's March-on-the-field-and-stand-there Band moved! I'm proud to announce we're officially a marching band! And ... ::drumroll:: we're finally being recognized as a fall sport! Yay!
Summer's coming to a close, but I have a feeling this year is going to be much better.
'Till later, dudes ...
