So, uh, it looks like Yami no Matsuei is starting up again. It's been forever since I last saw/read that series, but I decided to check out the news about it anyway.
Boy, what a surprise.
The artist's style completely changed! I know all artists' styles change over time, I'm just a little surprised about this one. I wouldn't have thought it was the same illustrator at all. It doesn't look bad or anything, just... somewhat generic. I'm kinda sad.
Side to side image comparison at the top. I do think that Hisoka benefits quite a bit with this style, though. He looks normal for once, goodness. His large eyes were always kind of weird to me. But Tsuzuki, wow. Tsuzuki shocked me the most, honestly. I didn't recognize him at all. I thought I was looking at an Ace Attorney character for a second there. What happened to his floofy hair?
...now I kinda want to see what the other characters look like. Damn, maybe this was a trap all along.
