Yes, I Am A Music Nerd. What Of It?
So now, NOW I get to start processing my Dream Project - this amazing recordings collection of OPERA and BOX SETS OF HOROWITZ and RACHMANINOFF and DROOL OMG I LOVE CLASSICAL MUSIC. I need to bring my opera excerpts book and lists from auditions to work with me so I know what to take home with me at the end of the day to upload to my computer. I am going to fill my poor hard drive up!
Today's Hot Find:
Menuhin/Debost/some harpist I can't remember playing the Debussy Flute/Viola/Harp Sonata. Oh, the wow. Oh, the pretty. I want to play this piece again soooooooo much, this time really paying attention. I did not do a good job of it for the poor people who performed it with me on a Civic chamber series show. I want to do it over. And the harpist, bless her heart, really wants to do it again too, even though it's with me. Hmm. I'm thinking here.... she is in town from Miami (she's now in New World) to do the May show with ICA. Maybe, if I do it right, she'd be willing to throw it together for something ELSE somewhere else that week.

Crystal and I are now in negotiations/planning for a winter recital program. We're thinking 75 minutes of music; about a third of it solo stuff for each of us with the remaining third flute/oboe and fl/ob/piano. I'm SO EXCITED.
I heart flute. No, seriously. I really do.
