I have been awake since FIVE THIRTY. That's not even really morning, you guys! I was awake for almost three hours before the sun came up. I had to drive my parents out to the airport so they could fly down to Orlando to visit my sister and bro-in-law for the weekend and then while my mom spends the week in business conferences, my dad's probably going to go try and live at NASA. Home alone, whoo!
We had freezing rain here tonight, and the five mile mountain road up to our house is a sheet of ICE. I was worried I might not make it home at all, and it's entirely possible that when I wake up and try to go to work tomorrow, I will find myself stuck here. It was a very delicate balance coming up the mountain of going fast enough that I wouldn't stop and never start again, and going slow enough that I wouldn't go careening off down the gully. Even at 10 miles an hour and driving in a straight line, I was swerving all over the place. I think it's the worst I've ever driven that road, and I've been driving it for about ten years.
