A/N: Hi guys! I finally have something to post again. I hope you all like it! ♥
It wasn't that Jinki doubted Jonghyun's level of intellectual capacity or anything like that at all. It was just that he found it utterly ridiculous to capture Kim Kibum's heart by sending him a friend request on some social networking site.
But Jonghyun pressed him on about it, and even Taemin had bopped his head enthusiastically as he urged Jinki on. What really sold him, however, was the fact that even Minho, the most skeptic of Jonghyun's logic within their group, had smiled and nodded his head, even complimenting Jonghyun and his "stroke of genius".
And that was why Jinki was now sitting in front of his computer, fumbling with the mouse as Jonghyun leaned over his shoulder, giving out instructions on what to do.
"Just enter his name there on the search bar... 'Kim Kibum'."
"Yeah, okay." Jinki frowned once he hit enter, the results displaying about a thousand Kim Kibums. "I don't see him..."
"Are you blind or something? He's right there!" Jonghyun quickly took control of the mouse, pointing the cursor on what Jinki vehemently read as 'Send Friend Request'.
"W-wait!" he squeaked, grabbing the mouse and guiding it away from that one option that would most likely change the course of his life forever. "Wait just a minute, okay. I-- I need to think this over."
Jonghyun stared at him, his eyes wide and his jaw slack until he finally groaned, his gaze turning weary.
"Really now. I mean. Like really?" he said, his judging eyes piercing into Jinki's skull. "C'mon, Jinki. It's not like this'll change the course of your life forever."
"Um." Jinki awkwardly fidgeted, his hand still holding onto the mouse as if his entire life depended on it. "I just... what if he declines? Even if we go to the same school, I'm pretty sure he doesn't know that I exist. Oh god, he'd probably decline... I can't do this."
Jinki frantically moved his cursor to the log out button, but Jonghyun slapped his hand away, hovering over him and crushing Jinki with his weight as he pressed Send Friend Request. Jonghyun gave a satisfied nod as he confirmed the command, finally getting off Jinki, who now had his face buried in his hands, waiting for the impending doom to take place.
Minutes later a notification arrived, stating that Kim Kibum had accepted his friend request. Jonghyun grinned, clapping Jinki on the back. The latter could only stare on, his stomach doing a hundred somersaults.
"And now I leave you to attend to your business." Jonghyun said cheekily as he grabbed his jacket from Jinki's bed. "You can thank me tomorrow once you have your wits back."
Jinki didn't even have the heart to retort.

And so for the next few days Jinki found himself "observing" Kibum and his Facebook page. He definitely wasn't stalking though, because stalking meant staying up until midnight with the computer screen blaring against his face as he obsessively read every status and liked almost every photo.
One night though, Jinki's "observing" was cut short by his mother knocking on his bedroom door before opening it by just a fraction.
"Jinki, dear, it's midnight already." she said, frowning. "What are you doing gluing your face to the monitor? I hope you're not stalking some kid on the internet."
"It's not stalking, mom!" Jinki backfired all too defensively, his cheeks heating up as he quickly turned off his computer. He guided his mom out of his bedroom, reassuring her that yeah, he was really going to bed now, and that yeah, he'll turn off his modem for good measure.

"So, hyung, when are you planning to introduce yourself to Kibum?" Taemin asked during lunch time a few days after The Great Accept, as Jonghyun had mockingly named it.
Jinki, who had been deliberately chewing on his chicken sandwich, sputtered and quickly covered his mouth, looking around to see if anyone, particularly Kibum, had seen that act of grossness. Luckily, Minho was sitting across from him, hiding him from view.
"W-what are you talking about?"
"Oh come on, Jinki! You've been stalking--" Jonghyun interjected Taemin, pointing his fork at Jinki accusingly.
"Observing!"
"Okay-- observing Kibum's Facebook for like, more than a week already... I think it's high time you finally let him know that there's more to Lee Jinki than being an avid liker of his photos."
"I don't... what." Jinki said, looking lost as he looked over at Minho for some sort of divine intervention. Minho only shrugged though, taking a long, thoughtful sip of his orange juice. "This wasn't part of the plan!"
"Well, sooner or later you'll have to grow some balls." Jonghyun said as-a-matter-of-factly. Taemin looked at Jinki with his big doe eyes, obviously taking Jonghyun's side. Even Minho gave a curt nod before getting lost in his own world again. "We're saying this for your own sake. Don't you think it breaks my heart seeing you like that?"
"...like what?" Jinki squinted his eyes, sensing a bit of brashness underneath the affection Jonghyun was showing him. "Do I really look that horrible? I mean, it was only a few days of not sleeping..."
"You're hopeless." Jonghyun said, gulping down his soda with an air of finality. Jinki whimpered, biting on to his chicken sandwich, chewing forlornly as he stared off to a distance.

That same night, Jinki decided to comment on one of Kim Kibum's latest statuses. He mustered up his courage as he thought of something witty to type in as a comment, but in the end it all went down to a simple 'hi'.
And sure, it sounded little creepy and a whole lot of stalker-ish given that Kibum had no idea who Jinki was, but all the same the latter waited until Kibum got online before he himself signed out, too scared to actually wait if he would be getting a reply from the love of his life.
Jinki sighed, turned off his computer (and his modem) and crawled onto his bed as thoughts of Kim Kibum invaded his mind. Finally, as he drifted off to dreamland, Jinki vowed to introduce himself to Kibum personally first thing tomorrow.
*
However, the very next morning, as Jinki logged into his account, he was met with the harsh reality that Kibum didn't reply after all. He sighed, his shoulders drooping as he searched for a link to Kibum's profile, intent to double check.
He couldn't find any new posts from Kibum though, and that was really odd, considering that Jinki was quite familiar with Kibum's posting pattern. He disregarded it though, instead typing in Kibum's name in the search bar.
That was when he realized that Kibum had defriended him.
*
"What? Seriously?" Jonghyun said as both he and Jinki walked their way to school. Jinki had his head hung low, and Jonghyun was pretty much in charge of controlling his friend's direction. He pulled Jinki close by his arm right on time just as the other boy almost collided with a street lamp. "Kibum defriended you?"
Jinki groaned, shutting his eyes and kicking a stone out of the way.
"I don't even know what I did wrong!" he said, his expression similar to that of a kicked puppy. "I only typed in a 'hi'... was that seriously creepy enough?"
Jonghyun frowned, shrugging as they passed by the school gate.
"I don't know, man. I for one don't think that it's creepy at all or--"
Someone called for Jonghyun then, and Jinki saw that it was one of the choir boys in the school. Jonghyun hesitated, giving Jinki a questioning gaze. The latter smiled, giving a weak go sign before Jonghyun squeezed his arm and walked away.
Sighing, Jinki continued on his way to the school building, completely unaware of the fact that someone was calling him until he finally felt someone tap his shoulder lightly. He quickly turned out of instinct, his backpack that had been carelessly slung over his shoulder flying and ultimately hitting whoever had called for his attention right on the chest.
"Hey-- ow!"
And as soon as Jinki's vision focused, he felt his knees turn to jelly as he came face to face with none other than Kim Kibum, looking beautiful as ever albeit frowning and rubbing his chest in slow circles. Jinki felt the air barely entering his lungs as Kibum laid his eyes upon him, drawing out a pout before he started talking again.
But Jinki still hadn't gotten over the shock, so Kibum had to snap his fingers before his face, calling his name a few times as he did so.
"...what-- I-- whu..." Jinki mumbled incoherently, his face turning beet red. "Y-you... you know me?"
Kibum scoffed, crossing his arms over his chest. Jinki would've deflated if not for the fact that the younger boy had an amused smile on his face.
"Duh." he said, flicking his hair. Jinki tried hard not to swoon. "Lee Jinki. Senior. Friends with that weirdo Kim Jonghyun."
"Well." Jinki started lamely, rubbing his arm up and down. He avoided meeting Kibum's eyes lest he wanted to melt into a puddle right before him. "...I guess that means we can skip the introductions?"
"What?" Kibum's eyes narrowed, and Jinki gulped, running his words through his head, checking if he had said anything that was even remotely offending. "So are you implying that you know me?"
Okay, this wasn't really how Jinki pictured his very first conversation with Kibum. He pictured something a little more... romantic. For instance, Kibum should be blushing and giggling as Jinki proclaimed his undying love, not glaring daggers at him.
"Facebook." Jinki managed to draw the two syllables out.
"I can't believe you." Kibum said, throwing his arms up in the air, looking absolutely exasperated. "I waited all year for this, and this is how it all turns out!"
Jinki gulped, feeling helpless as Kibum began poking his shoulder.
"This is why I defriended you on Facebook!" he said, his cheeks flushing as he threw his fierce disposition out the window. Instead, Jinki could see a familiar expression on his face; one that he was so akin to since he himself always had it on whenever Kibum was around. "You go around liking my photos and poking me and whatever, but all this time you never even had the nerve to chat me up? And then when you finally manage to at least drop a comment, you type in a 'hi'? Wow, really. I expected more from the guy I like!"
Kibum had lost Jinki the moment he started ranting, but the second the last sentence burst forth from his lips, Jinki found himself standing in attention.
"Y-you do?" he asked sheepishly, his stomach doing those stupid somersaults again. Kibum frowned deeply, obviously unaware that he had just confessed his feelings. "You like me, Kibum-ah?"
"I-- you... this isn't--" Kibum blushed, completely flustered as he realized what he had just done. "Ugh, this is pointless. I've waited for this since forever so I'm not going to waste it all away just because you're too busy being completely unaware that--"
"Kibum." Jinki felt a smile creep into his face as he motioned for the younger boy to stop talking. "I get it. I actually, really, really get it."
"Well, thank god." Kibum said, snorting sarcastically although the faint blush on his face gave it all away. Jinki reluctantly reached a hand to cup his cheek, biting his lip as he kept himself firmly on the ground, because he was pretty sure that he was seconds away from floating on air, what with the way Kibum was looking at him.
"Hey, Kibum-ah," Jinki said, his eyes crinkling as he finally thought of something witty. "I know this is totally rushed, but senior year's ending and I-- that is, can I send you a request asking you to be my boyfriend?"
If Kibum had been some other guy who didn't research thoroughly about his crush, he would've snorted and pulled away, shuddering at how bad Jinki was at this budding romance thing. But since Kibum was in fact someone who had been creeping on Jinki since the day he saw him tripping on his two left feet, he could only roll his eyes affectionately and smile, reaching over to lace his fingers through Jinki's.
"Yeah, okay. Request accepted."
And now, Jinki was pretty sure he won't be getting defriended for a long, long time.
