Some Exciting News
This evening I found out that I was named one of the Chief Residents for my residency program. I'm only 2 months shy of starting my final year of residency. I have many career decisions to make in the upcoming months, but this is a great way to begin my final year. There are 3 of us that were elected Chief to head the 24 residents. It is quite an honor. Our biggest responsibility is preparing the daily schedule for the next 12 months for each of the 24 residents, including work hours, lecture and didactic/ educational sessions, vacations, overnight calls, etc. Somedays it is going to be a headache, i'm sure of it. Honestly though, it's exactly what I dreamed of!
On another note... I called my brother tonight to tell him of my news. To my astonsihment he also had some great news - he was named Art Director for his company. He is a graphic designer and probably one of the most talented artists. His free-hand drawings are mesmorizing to my eyes. His girlfriend is also very talented - she's into fine arts. Nonetheless, she has amazing skills. Anyway, the promotion for my bro brings his more money, added responsibility but also ability to maximize his creativity. I'm so proud of him.
What a wonderful day it's been. Now if only Mom & Dad would hit the lottery or jackpot, life would be complete...
