I'm in serious shit, I feel totally lost
If I'm asking for help it's only because
Being with you has opened my eyes
Could I ever believe such a perfect surprise?

Amy wasn't in the mood to be harassed. Not by Flack (to whom she had swore at like any good sailor would and had him with his mouth hanging open and a blush creeping onto his cheeks by the time she left him), not by Loren (who ended up laughing so hard at her that he had to excuse himself from the crime scene long enough to compose himself again), not by Mac (who just received a dirty look, but got the general idea) and certainly not by Danny. She saw that man's smirk coming from around the corner, and the minute Loren and Flack saw him coming, charged him.

The only words they both spoke were 'What the hell did you do?' and that made her smile a little. After a few minutes of intense interrogation, Danny managed to rid himself of both Loren and Flack and make his way over to Amy, who was dusting for prints.

"Apparently I did something?" asked Danny, that stupid cockiness in his voice, that sent Amy's almost semi-happy mood back to being pissed off almost immediately.

"You always do something, Messer," said Amy, irritation very clear in her voice. "You should get used to it by now."

He looked a little surprised at that. "You're being rude."

"I'm always rude," snapped Amy. She turned away from Danny and continued dusting for prints, when she heard him mumble something under his breath.

"You're only this rude when your ma calls ya."

No. Oh, no he didn't.Amy's mouth dropped open and she turned to look at Danny who had already started making his way to collect evidence from the other side of crime scene. Loren and Flack saw her turn and froze, feeling very sorry for Danny at that moment.

"What did you just say?"

Danny sighed and stood up, turning around to face her, stuffing his hands in his pockets. "I think you heard me, Fisher."

"I wanna make you say it again," said Amy loudly, tossing her dusting brush in her kit and placing her hands on her hips.

"Did your mother call you, Amy? Because you're acting like she did."

"So what if she did? Does that automatically mean I’ll be a bitch the rest of the day?"

"Usually, yes."

"Danny, I think you should lay off," Loren said from the other side of the room and Amy shot him a glare.

"No, I think he should keep talking," said Amy. "Dig yourself a bigger hole, Danny, go on."

"Did she tell you to go home," asked Danny. "Did she tell you, you needed to be saved?"

"Actually she talked about you," said Amy. "She told me you were nothing but a cradle robbing pimp who would throw me away as soon as looking at another girl. I told her she was wrong, but maybe she wasn’t. Maybe you are just the scum underneath my shoes."

Danny stared at her for a long time, watching her chest rise and fall quickly until she bent back down to grab her brush again and continue on with her work.

"Do you really think that?" Danny asked after a moment, noticing that Loren and Don were both still staring at them, standing frozen in place while Mac had gone off to process. Amy stopped, her hand poised to continuing dusting. She didn’t answer him and started working again. Danny nodded and turned his back on her while Don and Loren just stared from one to the other.

"That was a little anti-climactic," muttered Don and Loren nodded in agreement.

"Totally lame."
