Before I leave this topic once and for all, I would like to encourage everyone who has been reading this to pass on the message. After rereading my previous posts I stand by them 100%. This is a real issue in today’s world. Our entire educational system is based on a lie. Books do not make you smarter. I understand that people will continue to read books for school in order not to fail, and I think that it would be asking a lot to have people contentiously object to reading books and fail out of school, but the concept of reading for pleasure must be countered.
I heartily encourage making friends online rather than wasting time reading. Go watch a TV show or play a video game to stimulate your brain. Today’s technology is wonderful and there are so many interesting things to spend one’s time doing. I easily spend hours online at a time without realizing it, but I know that that time has been well spent. If I were reading, all I would have accomplished is having read a few chapters, but online I can see the conversations I have had and the quizzes that I have taken. Take a quiz! Learn something about yourself! Stop going out of the house to pick up books, and stay inside where the weather is always comfortable. The world is at your fingertips! Enjoy!
ETA: Today my “friend” told me that I was being stupid if I thought that anything I wrote here was going to do anything. Show her that she is wrong, people! Comment here! Tell me how wonderful I am! Agree with all of my thoughts despite the fact that they are barely coherent and they have no factual or logical support! Validate me as a person because I have no real friends!
