So the last 48 hours have been nothing short of interesting. In a small-town girl sense, that is.
George, Megan and I were supposed to go see Guster and Matt Pond PA yesterday in the city. We had it all planned out. I got to the train station 15 minutes early, we were so psyched. We documented our excitement. George has the pictures...
I'm tired so I'll give the short version of the story. The train decided not to run that day because of track work or something like that and there was supposed to be a bus to take us to a stop where there were trains running but it turns out we were misinformed about the time it was coming and we missed the damn thing. So then we decided to risk and drive to the next station that supposedly had trains running into the city, we wind our way to the village of Harrimon train station and wait for about another 45 minutes and find out from a conductor that the next train going to the city would not be until 10:30. Boo, we said. We boo-ed and hoo-ed and decided to go see Harry Potter, which in my opinion was awful. Complete misrepresentation of the book and they should have stuck with the last director because the transitions were non-existant. Maybe if you've never read the book the movie was enjoyable, but I found it painful.
They all became exceedingly good looking however, the best part of the movie in my opinion was seeing all the amazingly beautiful English people. And Cho had a beautiful, thick, Irish accent which I found quite wonderful.
Somehow, George, Meg and I kept the fun going, laughed the whole time and enjoyed ourselves despite the world hating us. OH Guster and Matt! We are going to write them sad e-mails and show them our documentation we have of our night as it declined and the New Jersey transit system was a bitch to us. Maybe they'll send us signed pictures or something. But I love those Jews with all my heart and by god someday I will see them in concert. And Matt Pond PA, as well, although they are not primarily a Jew-filled band, I love them desperately. And as if all that was not enough, when we got back from the movie and into George's XM radio-wired car, Matt Pond PA came on and Lily Two pushed me to the verge of tears. Oh the disappointment and agony.
Oh how I love the fact that we were still able to laugh through the night.
