my older sister in my host family speaks fluent english...lucky lucky eh? at the same time it discourages me frin communicating properly. my response time is improving each day though, and ive learned much vocab. excuse the kacj if punctuation; shift JIS is a bitch to journal in english in. i feel so removed from alaska that its like im in a dream where everyone constantly sweats in a pressure cooked town surrounded by ricefields and kind people and cheery grandparents. my grandfather here may be blind, but hes an awesome massage therapist...and he does acupuncture which is termed as anmahari. ayami, the middle sister goes to basketball club everyday for 4 to 7 hours and excercises. and she manages to stay incredibly lively and have a boyfriend. memi, whom i share a room with is very sweet and im going to attend a cheerleading club with her...dunno how i feel about that yet. she says that shes not girly and she hates wearing skirts but she...cheerleads? me...cheerlead? nooooo...well, theres a first time for everything, they say. i want to join the kyuudou (archery) club but i do believe that im quite a bit too weak for it...dunno about track either. well, if all else fails, i could be in the camera club. a typhoon is coming tonight so there might not be school tomorrow...i havent gone to school yet but its a very sports-active commercial school in takamatsu. tonight we will barbecue for host dads birthday. the ofuro here really is awesome...and i bought engrish clothes for incredibly cheap prices at the outlet mall...and some of the shoe prices here...(faints) you could shop here till you died and still covet everything. im still waiting to meet sakimi, the youngest girl, whos out on a school camping trip. let us hope that i mnake a good imPRESSION>THESHIFTJISTURNEDBACKINSOILLSTOPHERE
