www.yfu-usa.org has scholarships that you can apply for, but you usually have to be in high school around junior-level for Asia scholarships, with two years of the country's language experience. The applications are due by January and require many short answer essay questions, as well as filling out a gigantic 30-page application, sending pictures and getting recommendations. If you get chosen for one of 100 spots you have to donate $500 to the organization before they confirm your scholarship, and entry fee to apply is $75. They want people with 3.0 or higher G.P.A's with foreign language experience for most scholarships and they usually call you back for an interview if they like your application. I applied and didn't think I'd get in, but I'm from Alaska and they hardly ever get people from here, so it's probably easier to apply from a state like mine where I only had to compete with 20 or so people for one of 100 spots. I applied for two scholarships, so it's always good to apply for at least that much if you don't get picked for your first choice.
