(no subject)
So after my first day, I got sick and fell off the face of the earth until Monday.
On Monday, I did book inventory all day. I have a clipboard and I go from classroom to classroom counting books. It's fantastic! I'm not being sarcastic. I get to talk to the teachers and the students. It's funny seeing all the same books that I used when I was there and all of the books that I helped pack up and distribute two summers ago. A bunch of the younger kids think I'm a teacher or call me Pretty Lunch Lady and I'm still frightened by the eighth graders who are all twice my size.
I was going to help the neon-shirted Parent Patrol, but then I realized I had to dash off to the Play House for my Play House College Graduation. That was fun? We put together a show in an hour and it was kind of ridiculous. But hey, we had fun and got diplomas.
Yesterday, I spent the entire day at school for the Strnad Assembly and then went back to the Play House for tech. My cast forgot all of their lines for some reason. Hopefully, they will be better tomorrow? Crossing my fingers. I also got my report card and it was my second best one and I didn't even try. I finished my HB career quite well and with plenty of honors, so I'm pleased. And glad I never have to deal with it again.
Today was the Day of Concern and Connie Schultz spoke. She was fantastic. There weren't any serious problems -everyone got where they needed to go on time. It went quite well. So far the only field trip group that didn't like it is the one that was sent to the downtown library. I don't blame them. It could have been cool, but you really had to be open to liking and being interested in the history of the library. I'm guessing that didn't happen. It was the one trip we were scrambling to put together. Oh well.
After everyone was sent on their way, I had lunch in the Dining Hall with Catherine, got on the train, talked to my cousin in New York, went to City Buddha, filled out a job application, and went to Denison. At Denison, I did more book inventory and typed up my own list to make it easier for me to gather the data. I talked to Mr. Nix and Ms. Tranter (my out-of-school sponsors) and had a grand time. I'm such a dork, but I might actually go to Denison at 8:30 tomorrow morning to sit in on a Staff Meeting!!! Yes, laugh and smirk away. But I'm excited about it. I'm hopefully going to finish the book inventory tomorrow.
Last tech rehearsal tomorrow night. I recorded my sister for my voice overs and hopefully they will work. And hopefully I will have costumes for my cast.
Come to the Student Playwriting Festival! Friday and Saturday Night at 7pm! FREE! At the Cleveland Play House! Different Plays On Each Night! uhhh... I think that's all I have to say. PLEASE COME! (on friday 'cause that's my big night!)
