What surprises Harvey is how quiet Mike can be. Late at night when they come together in the darkness, Mike can only sigh and shudder as Harvey pushes into him. The vocal young man with the quick witted tongue disappears and left in his place is a quivering silent lover. Harvey thinks maybe he talks enough the rest of the time, maybe this is the one time he lets his brain stop running through it's myriad of contrasting thoughts and ideas.
And Harvey lets him. He whispers gently in Mike's ear as they move in harmony, never wanting to break the walls that cocoon them from the rest of the noisy world.
All of the begging and pleading and orders and demands are left for another day. There are no manly grunts and groans and moans that rattle the fixtures.
There is only the closeness that understanding brings. There is only the slow build up and quiet explosion.
And in the end there are only gentle breaths and soft lips.
