WHICH MAKES IT EVEN MORE APPALLING THAT HE BUYS INTO IT. THIS GIRL CALLS HIM HER RAGGEDY DOCTOR AND HE FALLS HOOK LINE AND SINKER FOR IT, CONSTRUCTS HIS ENTIRE EXISTENCE AROUND BEING THE CHARACTER SHE'S WRITTEN FOR HIM TO PLAY. A P P A L L I N G.

yep yep AND ALSO: Amy is "different". the Rose/Martha/Donna story all went the same way -- he met them, they thought he was wonderful, they all had adventures and then it all ended in tears. but the pattern is fucked up with Amy: he ruins her life THE DAY THEY MEET. she straight away learns what took Rose/Martha/Donna much longer to learn about him (HE ALWAYS LEAVES YOU DOESN'T HE). and yet 14 years later, she steps into his Tardis anyway. she introduces the possibility of change. he buys into it. what a disaster.
he'll be there to help you and save you and he'll be the first one out afterwards.

YES. BUT HE WILL DO EVERYTHING FOR A GOOD STORY, REMEMBER, BECAUSE THAT'S ALL THERE IS IN THE END? and a boy who falls out of the sky to a girl's yard, and the girl who then waits for him and then finally he flies back again only now so much of her life's passed, and all of her life is him, really. it's such an exquisite story. he couldn't pass up on such an opportunity.

YES. WHICH IS ALSO WHY THIS IS SUCH A WONDERFUL STORY TO BUY INTO. he could change it all, turn it all around, once at least, to make all the other times count less. but what he fails to realize while he's focusing on changing the eternal plot of his life is that IT'S ALREADY ALL BEEN SET IN MOTION. what causes this story to seem to be different is exactly the same thing that's completely the same as all the other stories. WHICH IS WHY IT HURTS MORE AND WORSE this time. because he thought it would be different.

I haven't even thought about that angle, how he's her imaginary friend before he is anything else, and Amy is his imaginary friend, after she's been everything else. GUH. ALL GOOD STORIES ARE REPETITVE AND CLICHES AND THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN. ELEVEN LOVES GOOD STORIES.

YES. the only half of him that he doesn't want to leave, would never leave. (because he's never afraid that the TARDIS will leave him. with the TARDIS he'll never be left alone in the wreckage. if anything, the TARDIS will be the wreckage and they'll meet their end together.)
