And he just smiles because isn't it everything he had ever wanted from her? For her to make the decision to come with him.
screwed up power dynamics and violence aside, I do love how he's so so genuinely HAPPY with anything she might throw in his way, no matter if it's an insult or a compliment or you know, any kind of reaction. Klaus is all give, give, give and drama all around and he's happy whatever he gets, I love that. And she knows that, and she knows she doesn't have to try unless she wants to.
I love that this is them playing pretend. That she makes this into her summer road-trip after graduation. That she can't have it with all the people she wants to, so she'll have it with him. And she does all the clichés and she makes him let her drive. And she lets him sleep in the bed with her, even when he offers her otherwise. And again, Klaus just smiles. Because this is the girl he fell in love with.

And the ending, I LOVE the ending where she's yelling at him and he's comforting her and there's kissing in between and its just perfect. I love it!
I'm v. happy to hear this because I am terribly nervous about writing endings, ALWAYS.
