There used to be an old man who’d come by to take some of the scraps and make new things out of them, but he’d died of pneumonia in the early days of the New Caprica settlement.
I love details like this. They make the story feel real.
Great chapter. It makes a lot of sense the way Felix established his contact with the resistance and I also liked his thoughts on Gaius, and his reaction to the explosion.
This continues to be great! The explanations of how the dead drop got set up are excellent, as are little details like Felix recognizing Chief's handwriting and the whole explanation of who Jake belonged to. I also enjoyed watching Felix coming to things that were in canon - like the NCP bombing, but also, his relationship to Baltar. It was fascinating watching Felix reflect on how Baltar was a victim too, particularly the line about how he wasn't waltzing in signing memos with a smile on his face, but that he was the president and he should be doing something like Felix was. Such an interesting reflection considering how Felix lies about that very point later in Baltar's trial. (Although I don't know if this AU is going to end up with Felix on Galactica...)
Cottle continues to be great, btw. Everything in this story is, really.
Although I don't know if this AU is going to end up with Felix on Galactica... One word: sequel. :D Needless to say, canon is getting thrown out the window there, because Adama is not about to let a cylon into CIC right after New Caprica. But things with Baltar will come to a head before then.

I'm so curious to see, with how close to canon you manage to play this, what happens when he helps everyone escape. :)
